Come shape the future of education with us.

At Compass, we're on a mission to transform the school day for everyone - from staff and students to families and administrators. We build smart, seamless technology that empowers schools to focus on what really matters: learning, growing and thriving.

That mission has fuelled our growth into a global scale-up, now supporting 5,000+ schools across three countries, backed by a team of 300+ people. Our all-in-one school management platform is redefining how education communities connect, communicate and operate.

We're looking for a Schools Advisor to join our Expansion team in Melbourne.

About the Role

This role is focused on growing revenue from our existing customer base. You'll work with schools already on the Compass platform to increase the value they get from us, through module purchases, subscription growth and price management.

It's a great fit for someone early in their sales career who's motivated by targets, energised by building relationships and excited to work with a product that genuinely makes a difference in schools.

What you'll do

Sales & Business Development

  • Proactively identify new business opportunities from incoming leads and targeted outbound activity.
  • Conduct onsite and online module demonstrations for existing customers.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for new module sales and upsell conversations.
  • Meet and exceed quarterly revenue targets for module sales.
  • Raise awareness of new modules and features through direct school contact, encouraging positive word of mouth.

Customer & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Collaborate with Customer Success and Marketing to enhance existing school subscriptions and build customer satisfaction.
  • Represent the voice of the customer to provide input into new product and feature development.
  • Support and attend local and national marketing events and conferences.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key contacts across your school portfolio.

Pipeline & Operations

  • Manage your pipeline, calls, meetings and tasks in Zoho.
  • Keep up to date on the Compass product and participate in regular training and information sessions.

Requirements

About You

This role suits someone who's commercially minded, relationship-focused and motivated by growth. You enjoy getting in front of customers and take pride in finding the right solution for them.

You will bring:

  • 1–2 years' experience in a sales, account management or customer-facing role.
  • A track record of meeting or exceeding targets in a performance-driven environment.
  • Confident communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and present compellingly.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage a pipeline effectively.
  • A genuine curiosity about the product and the schools you're working with.

Highly regarded:

  • Experience using a CRM tool (Zoho or similar).
  • Prior experience in EdTech, SaaS or a high-growth scale-up environment.

Benefits

Why Join Compass

What we offer:

  • Learning and development opportunities, including a dedicated PD budget.
  • 24/7 access to our Employee Assistance Program (EAP), including face-to-face, phone and live chat support.
  • A parental leave program for both primary and secondary carers.
  • Regular team events, social budgets and in-office perks to keep you connected — from team lunches to end-of-week socials.
  • Employee Referral Program.
  • A supportive, inclusive culture where your voice is valued and heard.

Compass is proud to be an equal opportunity employer. We embrace and celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.

Prior to commencing employment, you'll need:

  • A satisfactory National Police Check
  • Verification of unrestricted work rights in Australia (e.g. citizenship, passport or birth certificate)

What you need to know about the Melbourne Tech Scene

Home to 650 biotech companies, 10 major research institutes and nine universities, Melbourne is among one of the top cities for biotech. In fact, some of the greatest medical advancements were conceptualized and developed here, including Symex Lab's "lab-on-a-chip" solution that monitors hormones to predict ovulation for conception, and Denteric's vaccine for periodontal gum disease. Yet, the thousands of people working in the city's healthtech sector are just getting started, to say nothing of the tech advancements across all other sectors.
