Where the team fits in
This Business Analyst position is within the Core Property Data team within the PropTrack business. PropTrack is REA’s property data solutions business, and Australia’s leading source of property insights, digital valuation solutions, and predictive analytics. The Core Property Data team is responsible for building a platform that underpins delivery of the best property research, property valuations and property analytics tools in Australia.
We’re looking for a Business Analyst for the documentation and knowledge transfer for a newly acquired product within REA Group. This role will build a clear, shared understanding of the product’s current processes, data inputs, infrastructure, customers, and overall offering—capturing the full picture and translating it into accessible, high‑quality artefacts for our internal teams. You’ll help accelerate integration, de‑risk day‑to‑day operations, and set strong foundations for future enhancements across PropTrack and the wider REA Group.
What the role is all about
- Analyse and document business rules, data structures, processes, and infrastructure using methodologies such as data flow diagrams, entity‑relationship diagrams, data schemas, and source‑to‑target mappings.
- Model and document business processes, workflows, and user journeys using techniques such as process maps, value stream maps, and storyboards.
- Ensure documentation is clear, accurate, and understood by both business and technical stakeholders
- Identify and communicate dependencies, process gaps, issues, risks and opportunities for improvement during the analysis process.

- Liaise with subject matter experts, vendor representatives, and internal stakeholders to gather knowledge and insight.
- Facilitate workshops and discussion forums with both technical and non‑technical teams.
- Facilitate knowledge transfer sessions with relevant teams to ensure understanding and continuity.
Who we’re looking for
- 3+ years of experience in a similar role, ideally working with data, analytics or engineering environments. You will have proven experience as a Business Analyst in complex product or systems environments.
- Proven track record in producing high‑quality documentation, data specifications, requirements gathering, and delivering business analysis outcomes.
- Prior experience in product/technology delivery, ideally in an Agile environment.
- A passion for documentation with the ability to clearly distill complex concepts for varied audiences.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as pedantic attention to detail.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and facilitation abilities, with experience in knowledge transfer.
- Deep interest in data and its practical application to solve business problems.
- Familiarity with programming concepts and system architecture.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams and maintain productive relationships at all levels.
- Ability to work independently, and deliver outcomes within set timeframes
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Business, IT, or related discipline are desirable
