About the role

If you’re someone who loves turning complex transport data into smarter, simpler ways of working, this could be your next move. As our Transport Commercial Analyst, you’ll join a team at the heart of how products move through the business — using tools like Excel, Power BI and transport systems to help shape a more efficient, reliable network.

This is a chance to work across supply chain, finance, technology and supplier partners on real challenges that have a real impact. You’ll play an important role in helping us make better commercial decisions, improve transport performance and support a safe, compliant, customer-focused network.

What’s involved

This role is all about using insight to improve outcomes across cost, service and network performance. You’ll have the opportunity to:

  • Turn transport and cost data into clear recommendations that help improve the way goods move through the Bunnings network
  • Build and maintain cost-to-serve models, pricing analysis and reporting that support day-to-day decisions and longer-term planning
  • Support tenders, rate reviews and commercial governance, helping keep our network commercially sound and well managed
  • Track carrier and network performance, spot trends and identify where things can work better
  • Partner with internal teams and external providers to lift efficiency, improve service and support continuous improvement initiatives
  • Contribute to business cases, month-end analysis and commercial reviews that help leaders make informed decisions
  • Help strengthen data quality, reporting standards and visibility across the transport network

About You

You’re naturally curious and enjoy solving problems that don’t always have a straightforward answer. You like getting into the detail, but you also know how to step back, spot patterns and explain what matters in a simple way.

You’ll do well in this role if you bring a strong commercial mindset and enjoy working with others to make improvements stick. You’re comfortable working across different teams, asking good questions, and using data to influence decisions.

What you'll need

  • Background in a transport, logistics, supply chain or commercial analyst role
  • Strong understanding of transport operations, cost drivers and pricing structures
  • Advanced capability in Excel, including modelling and analysis
  • Experience using Power BI or similar reporting tools
  • Confidence working with large datasets and turning them into practical, useful insights
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • A proactive approach, good judgement and close attention to detail

You’ll be part of a workplace where you’ll feel like you belong.

What you need to know about the Melbourne Tech Scene

Home to 650 biotech companies, 10 major research institutes and nine universities, Melbourne is among one of the top cities for biotech. In fact, some of the greatest medical advancements were conceptualized and developed here, including Symex Lab's "lab-on-a-chip" solution that monitors hormones to predict ovulation for conception, and Denteric's vaccine for periodontal gum disease. Yet, the thousands of people working in the city's healthtech sector are just getting started, to say nothing of the tech advancements across all other sectors.
