THE OPPORTUNITY

As a Technical Specialist supporting the Eligibility team, you will provide up-to-date technical guidance on liability and eligibility assessments and determinations. This role operates in a customer-focused environment, with an emphasis on the proactive management of claims.
You’ll draw on your broad experience across various facets of workers compensation to coach team members and deliver creative, strategic advice in line with Victorian workers compensation legislation and WorkSafe Victoria guidelines.
This is a full time, permanent role based in our Melbourne office with the flexibility to work from home up to 3 days per week.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide targeted technical advice and support in relation to eligibility claims management, assessment and determination
- Identify continuous improvement opportunities and work with the team on solutions to maximise the effectiveness of case management
- Ensure claims teams achieve performance and KPA targets as set out as part of the BU performance framework
- In conjunction with the Team Leader identify, develop and implement effective strategies to support the achievement of key performance and remuneration measures
ABOUT YOU
- Technical experience within the Victorian workers compensation scheme is essential.
- Prior experience as a technical specialist or in a similar workers compensation claims role is highly regarded.
- Strong relationship management skills, with the ability to navigate competing stakeholder priorities.
- Excellent time management, negotiation, and influencing abilities.
- Well-developed problem-solving and strategic thinking skills.
- Experience in coaching, mentoring, and supporting others.
