We have an exciting opportunity at nbn, as a Solution Engineer reporting to the Senior Manager CNI Engineering
A bit about your role
The role involves defining and documenting solutions for nbn's Common Network Infrastructure (CNI) and Critical Infrastructure of NTS facilities. It requires collaboration with stakeholders to understand business requirements, scope, risks, and issues, translating them into high-quality engineering standards and design guidelines.
The position also entails writing and publishing engineering standards for the physical environment and infrastructure within Fibre Access Nodes (FAN), Points of Interconnect (POI), and nbn's Network and Technology Sites (NTS). Additionally, it involves specifying and testing CNI hardware for installation in the nbn network, enabling the physical installation of active network equipment by working with project teams, and providing support and guidance to field-based staff. Technical expertise is provided regarding various CNI aspects.
A bit about you
The ideal candidate holds a degree in engineering or a related field, with experience in designing and delivering complex architecture solutions in telecommunications or related industries.
A proven track record in technical design and documentation roles with telecommunications service providers, hands-on experience with telecommunications equipment installation, and in-depth knowledge of data centre design principles and industry standards.
The successful candidate is skilled in Inside Plant elements, possesses excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, and has a "can do" attitude with the ability to work autonomously. They can engineer scalable solutions within project constraints and are proficient in MS Word, MS Visio, Jira, and Confluence.
