Requirements

Born in 1947 in the heart of the French Alps, Salomon is a global leader in outdoor sports and lifestyle innovation. With a passion for performance and design, we create gear that empowers people to explore and push boundaries. As part of Amer Sports, you’ll be joining a global network of iconic brands with strong growth ambitions.

We are seeking a Social Media & Community Leadto lead the ANZ social strategy and day-to-day channel management across trail, outdoor and sportstyle. Working with the Head of Marketing, the wider brand and product teams and external creative, photo and video partners, you will set the local content calendar, brief and manage creators and agencies, move quickly when culture or the community calls for it, and use performance data to sharpen what comes next.

The Role...

You owns the community, not just the feed. The comments, the captions, the broadcast channels and the local network of KOLs, athletes and ambassadors are the job as much as the content calendar. Day to day responsibilities include;

  • Own the ANZ social strategy, channel mix and content calendar across run, outdoor and sportstyle.
  • Translate global campaigns, seasonal brand moments and product priorities into platform-native content for the local audience.
  • Set and protect the local tone of voice across captions, comments and broadcast channels so Salomon sounds like itself everywhere it shows up.
  • Build, grow and foster the Salomon ANZ community, treating comments, DMs, broadcast channels and community groups as core work rather than admin.
  • Connect the online community to offline moments such as runs, events and activations, and bring those moments back onto channel.
  • Track social, sport and cultural trends, and make the call on which ones Salomon plays in and which it sits out.
  • Create and publish reactive content at speed, including capturing and editing on the fly when a moment cannot wait for a production cycle
  • Build and manage a local community of KOLs, athletes and ambassadors with genuine brand fit, identifying new talent before the wider market does.
  • Write clear, inspiring creator briefs that protect brand and product messaging while leaving room for the creator's own voice
  • Feed social requirements into shoot planning so channel-first assets are captured on the day rather than cropped in later.
  • Report on channel and content performance against agreed metrics, and use the results to decide what to double down on and what to stop.

About You...

You currently live your life across Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Strava and emerging platforms, and understands the different job each one does. You can take a trend, format or cultural moment and make it feel unmistakably Salomon rather than a copy of everyone else. You have a proven track record building and sustaining an engaged online community across comments, DMs and broadcast channels. You are emersed in the ANZ run, outdoor and sportstyle consumer, their media consumption and their shopping habits.

From a technical perspective, you are comfortable capturing and editing strong content quickly and independently, and briefing professional photo and video teams for everything else. You have demonstrated experience in social media and/or community management, ideally brand side or agency side within sport, outdoor, fashion or lifestyle. You currently use social, web and commercial data to back decisions and to uncover opportunities and owning creative and talent management

What’s on offer

  • Competitive salary package
  • Generous staff discounts across Salomon and Amer Sports brands
  • Product allowance
  • Parental Leave Top-Up Program
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
  • Ongoing training and career development opportunities
  • The opportunity to be part of a global, growing business

Why Join Us?

At Salomon, we believe in creating a culture where people can thrive, grow, and push their limits. You’ll be part of a collaborative, high-performing team with access to global opportunities and career pathways.

We recognise that no candidate will meet every requirement. If your experience is slightly different but you believe you can add value, we’d love to hear from you.

What you need to know about the Melbourne Tech Scene

Home to 650 biotech companies, 10 major research institutes and nine universities, Melbourne is among one of the top cities for biotech. In fact, some of the greatest medical advancements were conceptualized and developed here, including Symex Lab's "lab-on-a-chip" solution that monitors hormones to predict ovulation for conception, and Denteric's vaccine for periodontal gum disease. Yet, the thousands of people working in the city's healthtech sector are just getting started, to say nothing of the tech advancements across all other sectors.
