The Opportunity

Reporting to the Salesforce Platform Manager, we are looking for a Senior Salesforce Developer for a 6-month fixed term contract. You will work closely with various internal stakeholders and third‑party providers to deliver high‑quality Salesforce solutions and operate as a solutions-focused engineer, not just a developer. As Salesforce is a critical platform for managing our student experience at OES, this role plays a key part in enabling teams to deliver exceptional service and outcomes.

 Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver ongoing Salesforce enhancements and custom development
  • Provide Salesforce administration and platform support
  • Identify, implement and optimise Salesforce workflows and processes
  • Investigate and resolve data issues, addressing root causes
  • Liaise with third‑party development partners
  • Conduct functionality walkthroughs and knowledge sharing for new and existing staff
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the Salesforce platform

 About you:

  • You’re a hands‑on Senior Developer who enjoys working autonomously while collaborating with a broad range of stakeholders. You’re comfortable translating technical solutions into business outcomes and thrive in a fast‑paced, evolving environment.
  • 4–6 years’ experience in the CRM domain, with 3+ years in Salesforce implementations
  • Strong experience across Salesforce Sales Cloud, Service Cloud and Experience (Community) Cloud
  • Advanced skills in Apex (classes, triggers, test methods), Lightning Web Components (LWC), Aura, Visualforce, SOQL and SOSL
  • Experience working with CI/CD pipelines
  • Hands‑on integration experience using REST APIs and OAuth
  • Solid understanding of Salesforce best practices, governor limits and security
  • Proven ability to manage priorities, meet deadlines and work independently
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders
  • Salesforce Platform Developer I certification (Platform Developer II highly regarded)

 What’s in it for you?

Along with joining a passionate, energetic and highly skilled team, this role will allow you to gain exposure to many growth and development opportunities. OES offers a hybrid, flexible approach to work, where we work 2-3 days from our state-of-the-art Cremorne office, and the rest from home (or wherever you choose!). Breakfast, snacks, table tennis, Nintendo Switch are all available in the office, as well as weekly staff drinks. Ultimately, you will be joining a values-driven, collaborative business where your creativity and innovation will be nurtured and celebrated.

We pride ourselves on being a 'People First' employer and if you join the OES Team, you will benefit from:

  • Flexible, hybrid work for genuine career-life fit (2-3 days in our Cremorne Office)
  • Professional development and mentoring
  • OES Culture Club and events calendar
  • Health and wellbeing activities
  • Annual flu vaccinations
  • Paid parental leave
  • Purchased leave
  • Study assistance and leave for eligible employees
  • Mental health support resources and Employee assistance program (EAP)
  • Income protection insurance
  • Access to corporate health insurance rates

What you need to know about the Melbourne Tech Scene

Home to 650 biotech companies, 10 major research institutes and nine universities, Melbourne is among one of the top cities for biotech. In fact, some of the greatest medical advancements were conceptualized and developed here, including Symex Lab's "lab-on-a-chip" solution that monitors hormones to predict ovulation for conception, and Denteric's vaccine for periodontal gum disease. Yet, the thousands of people working in the city's healthtech sector are just getting started, to say nothing of the tech advancements across all other sectors.
