This position as Senior Risk Analyst will partner with Member Domain business units to enable the operation and management of their risk and incident, obligations profile in line with the Fund's Risk Management Framework. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the delivery of first line activities across Member domain business units. The successful candidate will support and execute aspects of the Line 1 Risk & Controls program to mature the end-to-end control environment and have a key role in driving risk and control management assessments, thematic and incident-related management and reviews as well as support policy formulation and implementation as well as controls design advisory on strategic projects and profiling delivered risk. The outcomes of these activities will be communicated and presented to senior stakeholders through regular engagement and appropriate risk reporting/dashboards.

As a Senior Risk Analyst, you’ll partner with Member Domain business units to support the operation and management of risk, incidents and obligations in line with the Fund’s Risk Management Framework. You will play a key role in delivering first line risk activities, strengthening the control environment, and providing meaningful insights to senior stakeholders through reporting, analysis and engagement. 

Your New Role (12-month fixed term)

You will support and execute aspects of the Member Domain Line 1 Risk & Controls Program, helping uplift risk awareness, risk culture and control effectiveness across the business. You will work closely with stakeholders to identify, assess and manage risks, incidents and obligations while supporting strategic projects and change initiatives. 

Key duties include but are not limited to;

  • Ensure risk is managed in accordance with the Fund’s Risk Management Framework, including risk identification, assessment, reporting and incident management. 

  • Execute annual risk and controls activities including thematic reviews, controls testing, obligation reviews, self-assessment validation and risk profile assessments. 

  • Provide risk reporting, analysis and insights to business stakeholders, identifying trends and opportunities for risk uplift.

  • Support incident management activities including triage, escalation, root cause analysis, remediation tracking and reporting. 

  • Execute assurance activities including control testing and control self-assessment validations. 

  • Build strong stakeholder relationships and contribute to projects and change initiatives from a risk and controls perspective. 

  • Support reporting requirements for leadership, executive and board-level stakeholders where required. 

What You’ll Need

  • Commitment to AustralianSuper’s purpose and values. 

  • 5+ years’ experience in operational risk management, ideally within financial services or insurance. 

  • Strong knowledge of operational risk, compliance frameworks and incident management practices. 

  • Ability to analyse trends, identify root causes and recommend practical solutions. 

  • Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and data presentation skills. 

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capability with the ability to manage competing priorities. 

  • Experience working autonomously in a dynamic environment. 

  • Experience within superannuation, financial services, risk and compliance environments and relevant tertiary qualifications will be highly regarded. 

  • Hold an accreditation in Risk Management from a recognised body like Risk Management Institute of Australasia (RMIA) or Governance Institute of Australia (GIA), or be willing to obtain one after joining AustralianSuper. 

  • Demonstrated ability to understand and translate external regulatory requirements to shape business outcomes

This is a 12-month fixed term role.
