About the role:

We’re looking for a Senior Product Designer to design high-quality experiences across our low-code/no-code automation and AI-assisted app development platform. This role focuses on owning well-defined product areas, delivering strong design craft, and collaborating closely with Product and Engineering to ship impactful solutions.

Senior Product Designers operate with a high degree of autonomy on their product area while benefiting from guidance, feedback, and direction from Staff and Principal designers. This role is ideal for designers who are ready to deepen systems thinking, increase scope, and grow toward staff-level impact.

Your contribution will be:

  • Own end-to-end design for defined product areas or features, from discovery through delivery and iteration
  • Design intuitive workflows and interfaces for low-code/no-code automation, including builders, logic flows, data mapping, integrations, and AI-assisted capabilities
  • Partner closely with Product Managers to understand requirements, explore solutions, and align design work with product objectives
  • Collaborate with Engineering to ensure designs are feasible, scalable, and implemented with quality
  • Translate AI-powered features into usable, understandable experiences with clear user control and feedback
  • Create user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs that clearly communicate intent and interaction
  • Participate in user research and usability testing, applying insights to improve designs
  • Contribute to and follow established design systems, patterns, and standards
  • Advocate for usability, accessibility, and consistency within your product area
  • Iterate based on feedback, data, and real-world usage
  • Clearly communicate design decisions and tradeoffs to cross-functional partners

To be successful, we think you need:

  • 5+ years of product design experience working on digital products
  • Experience designing complex SaaS applications, preferably in:
    1. Low-code or no-code platforms
    2. Automation, workflow, or integration tools
    3. Systems-heavy or technical products
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating:
    1. End-to-end ownership of product features
    2. Solid interaction design and UX problem solving
    3. High-quality visual and UI execution
  • Experience contributing to AI-enhanced product features (e.g., assistants, recommendations, smart defaults)
  • Strong understanding of UX fundamentals, interaction patterns, and usability best practices
  • Ability to break down complex problems and propose thoughtful, user-centered solutions
  • Comfort working within defined problem spaces, with growing ability to navigate ambiguity
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills
  • Proficiency with modern design tools (e.g., Figma) and working within a design system

What you need to know about the Melbourne Tech Scene

Home to 650 biotech companies, 10 major research institutes and nine universities, Melbourne is among one of the top cities for biotech. In fact, some of the greatest medical advancements were conceptualized and developed here, including Symex Lab's "lab-on-a-chip" solution that monitors hormones to predict ovulation for conception, and Denteric's vaccine for periodontal gum disease. Yet, the thousands of people working in the city's healthtech sector are just getting started, to say nothing of the tech advancements across all other sectors.
