Build your career and Australia’s future
Not many people can say they are working on building Australia’s future. With us you’ll be doing just that, leaving a legacy for all Australians. Plus, there’s equal employment, great training, and true flexible working arrangements.
A bit about your role
As a Senior Network Design & Integration Engineer at nbn, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of Australia’s digital infrastructure. You’ll lead the design, build and maintenance of production-representative network test environments that support rigorous validation of end-to-end solutions across Aggregation and NCN transit domains. Your work will ensure our lab infrastructure is not only fit for purpose but also evolves in step with emerging test requirements, enabling seamless integration and robust performance.
In this role, you’ll bring deep expertise in routing and switching, guiding the integration of complex network systems and their IT interfaces. You’ll champion interoperability, uphold enterprise standards, and align closely with solution architecture principles. Your hands-on experience with technologies such as MPLS, VPLS, VPRN, BGP and RSVP-TE, and your familiarity with equipment from vendors like Nokia, Cisco and Juniper, will be key to your success.
You’ll also contribute to change reviews, resolve intricate design challenges, and foster continuous improvement across operational processes—all while supporting nbn’s strategic goals in infrastructure modernisation, automation and service assurance.
A bit about you
You’re a collaborative and purpose-driven engineer who thrives in complex technical environments and enjoys mentoring others. You bring a thoughtful and solutions-focused mindset to your work, with a strong foundation in advanced network configuration and troubleshooting. Your ability to integrate systems with precision and your commitment to quality make you a trusted expert in your field.
You’re someone who values teamwork and understands the power of cross-functional collaboration. You’re proactive in identifying opportunities for efficiency and improvement, and you’re energised by the chance to contribute to a national project with real impact. With your blend of technical leadership and inclusive communication, you’ll help shape a network that connects communities and supports Australia’s digital future.
