About the Role

The Finance team provides comprehensive financial support and guidance across the entire business. We service both client-facing teams and other shared services teams, ensuring that all financial aspects are managed efficiently and effectively with the appropriate level of controls.

We have an exciting opportunity to join our internal finance team as a Senior Accountant in a full-time, permanent position.

As a Senior Accountant, you will play a key role in supporting the finance team nationally, contributing to month-end processes, reporting and various accounting projects. This position offers you the opportunity to see a firm undergoing a new system implementation, internal process reviews and the opportunity to contribute to process improvements and automation.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Complete month end activities, including balance sheet reconciliations and processing journal entries

  • Preparation of P&L and balance sheet variance analysis, ensuring timely and accurate reporting to management

  • Preparation of statutory financial statements, reports and accounting workpapers

  • Proactively identify and resolve financial risks including transactional, reporting and account reconciliation issues, and implement improvements to our internal processes and workpapers

  • Implement and undertake accounting functions and projects as required

  • Working collaboratively with the team to meet deadlines and continually improve our processes

About you

The successful candidate will demonstrate strong technical accounting skills and have experience in a similar role ideally within a professional services firm.

Combined with

  • A Bachelor of Business/ Accounting (or other relevant tertiary qualifications)

  • CA/CPA Qualified

  • Experience with Caseware/Accurri (preferred) and Workday (preferred but not essential)

  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills, with Power Query experience

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with team members and stakeholders

  • Excellent attention to detail to ensure accuracy
