About the Role
The purpose of this role is to design, develop and maintain ETL (Extract, Transform, and Load) and reporting solutions using Azure and MSBI technologies (Azure Synapse, PySpark, ADF pipelines, SQL Server, SSIS, etc.), work on ETL and data related projects as directed and support current business reporting platforms.
Key Responsibilities:

Translate business requirements into efficient technical design.

Undertake problem analysis, process improvements and efficient issues resolutions.

Perform a range of data migration and manipulation activities including data analysis, data mapping, data modelling, and data cleansing.

Manage current Data Engineering solutions.

Take responsibility for the successful deployment of developed products within the specified environments.

Create and maintain detailed documentation to ensure effective handovers and knowledge transfer.

Ensure all relevant helpdesk tickets are assigned, monitored and resolved in a timely manner

Take ownership of issues.

Proactively manage and suggest improvements and enhancements to the IT environment.

Ensure that the adopted Business Management Systems policies, standards and procedures are adhered to (e.g. Quality, ISMS, ITIL, PCI DSS).

Mentor and transfer knowledge to the development team.

Keep track of your work hours using the provided tool/s.

Keep the stakeholders (e.g. the Systems Analyst, the resource coordinator and your manager) informed about the progress of your tasks, especially where deadlines or priorities are at risk.
About You
We are searching for a highly skilled Data Engineer with extensive experience in MSBI, ETL, and ADF pipelines, and a deep understanding of data warehousing and solution design. The ideal candidate will have advanced SQL Server programming skills, expertise in data modeling, and a proven ability to translate business requirements into effective technical solutions. Strong communication, problem-solving skills, and a self-starter attitude are essential qualities we seek in our future team members. The ideal candidate will also have experience mentoring and transferring knowledge to the development team and experience working in an Agile environment.
Key Skills and Attributes Required:

Strong software development experience, MSBI / ETL/ Synapse pipelines

Detailed knowledge of ETL solution and design.

Database implementation and enhancement.

Strong knowledge of designing and developing Azure Synapse notebooks, pipelines and Pyspark.

Strong SQL Server programming skills using T-SQL.

Knowledge of designing and developing SSIS solutions including using script tasks.

Demonstrated experience of implementing data solutions in MSSQL, developing complex Stored Procedures, Functions, User-defined Functions and Views.

Experience with Azure Devops, and cloud automation desirable. Terraform experience would be a plus.

Experience with SSRS and Power BI desirable
