About Us
At UniSuper, we are dedicated to delivering exceptional retirement outcomes for our members. With a long history in the University sector, we are a place where future-minded Australians come together.

We provide members with trusted advice that supports confident financial decisions, through personal advice, digital solutions, education and strong partnerships with independent financial advisers. Our work is grounded in professionalism, collaboration, and better retirement outcomes for members.

The Opportunity
Join UniSuper's External Adviser Partnerships team in a newly created senior role that will act as the operational 2IC for the function. Working closely with the Manager, Adviser & Licensee Operations, you'll help ensure work is prioritised, quality remains high, and the team continues to deliver an exceptional experience for financial advisers and licensees.

This is a great opportunity for someone looking to step beyond day-to-day operations and take on a broader leadership role. While you won't have direct people management responsibility, you'll play a key role in coaching colleagues, driving continuous improvement and supporting business change across a function that continues to evolve and grow.

As Senior Adviser & Licensee Operations, you will:

  • Act as the operational lead across the team, overseeing workflow allocation, prioritisation and service delivery.
  • Monitor performance, reporting and quality standards to ensure consistently strong outcomes.
  • Provide coaching, training and guidance to support team capability and operational excellence.
  • Lead quality assurance activities and help embed effective risk and control practices.
  • Support testing, system enhancements and process improvement initiatives across the function.
  • Partner with teams across UniSuper to resolve complex adviser-related enquiries and improve service outcomes.
  • Success in this role will come from your ability to stay close to the detail while maintaining a broader view of team performance, operational effectiveness and opportunities for improvement.

About You
You're an experienced operations professional who enjoys bringing structure, oversight and continuous improvement to a busy environment.

You have a natural ability to see what needs attention, whether that's improving a process, managing risk, supporting colleagues or ensuring work is delivered efficiently and to a high standard.

You enjoy being the person others rely on. The one who keeps things moving, spots issues before they become problems and brings a calm, organised approach when priorities are competing. You're equally comfortable rolling up your sleeves and getting into the detail as you are providing guidance, coaching others and helping shape how a team operates.

You've likely built your career within adviser services, licensee operations, advice operations or a similar financial services environment and understand the important role operational teams play in delivering great outcomes for advisers and their clients. You're naturally curious, proactive and always looking for opportunities to improve the way work gets done.

You will bring:

  • Experience within adviser services, licensee operations, advice operations or a similar environment supporting financial advisers and their businesses.
  • Experience acting as a senior team member, supervisor, coordinator or 2IC, with responsibility for workflow management, quality oversight and supporting others to succeed.
  • Strong operational capability, including quality assurance, risk awareness, reporting and process improvement.
  • Exposure to testing, system enhancements, business change or continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build relationships and work across teams to drive outcomes.
  • Strong analytical thinking, sound judgement and a high level of attention to detail.

Most importantly, you want to play a meaningful role in a function that is continuing to evolve and grow. You'll be a trusted operational leader within the team, helping to strengthen capability, improve ways of working and deliver an exceptional experience for advisers, licensees and their clients.

What you need to know about the Melbourne Tech Scene

Home to 650 biotech companies, 10 major research institutes and nine universities, Melbourne is among one of the top cities for biotech. In fact, some of the greatest medical advancements were conceptualized and developed here, including Symex Lab's "lab-on-a-chip" solution that monitors hormones to predict ovulation for conception, and Denteric's vaccine for periodontal gum disease. Yet, the thousands of people working in the city's healthtech sector are just getting started, to say nothing of the tech advancements across all other sectors.
