The successful candidate will join a high‑performing Victorian team within a business that values long‑term relationships, technical excellence and professional development.

The Role

This is a key role within the Victorian Branch. Working closely with the broader Victorian team and interstate stakeholders, you will play an integral part in delivering high‑quality insurance outcomes and risk transfer solutions to complex corporate and mid‑market clients across a range of industries including Manufacturing, Property Owners and related sectors.

As the successful applicant, you will:

  • Manage a low‑volume portfolio, playing a critical role in delivering strategic risk management advice to corporate clients.
  • Manage a portfolio of complex accounts generating income of $20k and above.
  • Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders to achieve optimal client outcomes, with a strong focus on client retention, new business growth and cross‑service capability delivery.
  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with insurance carrier partners, negotiating effective risk transfer and placement solutions aligned to individual client risk profiles.
  • Monitor and review your portfolio in line with compliance, regulatory and legislative requirements, supporting best‑practice outcomes across General Insurance and ideally Professional Lines.
  • Participate in business development initiatives, including policy wording reviews, technical input and claims commentary for tenders and new business pursuits.
  • Contribute to new business presentations and client meetings across the wider business.
  • Participate, where relevant, in industry speaking engagements and events to support brand awareness and market presence within Victoria.
  • Provide a high level of support to colleagues and ensure timely, efficient responses to internal and external requests.
  • Process large commercial and corporate new business, renewals and policy documentation, supporting internal frameworks and infrastructure.
  • Maintain a high standard of client service, including renewals, endorsements, amendments, insurer correspondence, reporting, premium calculations and allocations as required.
Skills and Experience That Will Lead to Success
  • Strong technical capability across a broad range of General Insurance products, with interest in deepening expertise within a specialist area.
  • A commercially minded, entrepreneurial approach with proven business development and cross‑selling ability.
  • High levels of self‑motivation, accountability and ownership at a senior relationship level.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • A collaborative team player comfortable working within a national framework while supporting colleagues across General and Professional Lines.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Business, Finance or Commerce, alongside industry‑required broking qualifications (minimum Tier 1 compliance). Candidates from an underwriting background are also encouraged to apply.
