About Wellio

At Wellio, we help schools put wellbeing at the heart of learning. We believe deteriorating youth mental health is one of the most important problems in the world to tackle right now, and we're looking for people to join us on that journey.

Schools are stepping up to tackle this crisis head-on, putting wellbeing lessons into their timetables and making student mental health a priority. But staffing constraints mean these lessons are often delivered by teachers who weren't trained in wellbeing, leaving them feeling unprepared for the concerns and questions that come their way. Meanwhile, schools are trying to hand-roll their own systems to triage students, spot who's struggling, and deliver tailored support, prioritising wellbeing but struggling to solve it with staff who are new to these problems.

Today, Wellio powers programs in nearly 700 schools across 18 countries, and we're growing fast. With the number of schools using Wellio set to double in 2026, we're looking for passionate people to join us.

About The Role

We're looking for a Sales Development Representative (SDR) to join our sales team as we continue to grow the number of schools using Wellio across Australia and Asia. You'll work closely with our sales team to reach out to Heads of Wellbeing at schools, listen to their challenges, and articulate how Wellio can make their lives easier.

The core outcome of your role is to organise meetings between schools and our sales team so they can see a full demonstration of Wellio and trial the platform themselves. You'll achieve this through email, phone, and attendance at key wellbeing conferences across Australia.

As a fast-growing company, this role offers real opportunities to grow into senior sales positions, both within Australia and at our international offices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Book 100 meetings with schools across Australia each quarter, directly contributing to Wellio's growth.
  • Conduct a minimum of 150 calls per week to prospects, demonstrating interest in trialling Wellio's platform.
  • Nurture prospects through our lead generation funnel to ensure we meet schools at the right time.
  • Think strategically to identify the best path to capturing the interest of key decision-makers based on each school's structure and wellbeing program.
  • Maintain accurate records of schools' existing wellbeing programs and organisational structure.
  • Work closely with the sales team to develop and execute sales campaigns across the year.
  • Write and test marketing copy to identify the highest-performing outreach strategies.
  • Attend key wellbeing conferences across Australia and take up semi-regular opportunities for interstate travel to represent Wellio in person.
  • Explore and apply AI tools to improve your efficiency and the quality of your outreach — we want people who are curious about how to work smarter.

About You

  • Hard working and self-motivated, with a track record of hitting lead generation targets.
  • Strong communicator: confident on the phone and via email.
  • Resilient and tenacious; you're not easily discouraged.
  • A people person who can strike up a conversation with anyone.
  • Excited about becoming a foundational part of a fast-growing startup where you'll help innovate and build new processes.
  • Passionate about young people's wellbeing and the impact it has on their education and future.

Why Join?

  • Mission-driven work. We wake up and work on a globally meaningful problem.
  • Small, exceptional team. Staying lean means we prioritise simplicity and speed, and deliver outcomes we're proud of.
  • Transparency. We share everything internally because high trust breeds great culture.
  • Independent and profitable. We're privately held, we answer only to ourselves and our customers.
  • Flexible and hybrid work environment, based at The Commons in the heart of Cremorne.
  • Annual company conference alternating between Melbourne and an international location.
  • 5 weeks of annual leave.
  • We don't take ourselves too seriously. Great work and high standards are easier with a healthy dose of laughter.

What you need to know about the Melbourne Tech Scene

Home to 650 biotech companies, 10 major research institutes and nine universities, Melbourne is among one of the top cities for biotech. In fact, some of the greatest medical advancements were conceptualized and developed here, including Symex Lab's "lab-on-a-chip" solution that monitors hormones to predict ovulation for conception, and Denteric's vaccine for periodontal gum disease. Yet, the thousands of people working in the city's healthtech sector are just getting started, to say nothing of the tech advancements across all other sectors.
