  • Strong knowledge of risk and compliance frameworks, particularly within a Line 1 environment.
  • Experience in financial advice within the superannuation industry will be highly regarded.
  • Critical thinking with strong analytical and problem-solving capability.

  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to influence and provide pragmatic, commercially sound risk advice.
  • High level of professionalism and discretion when handling confidential matters.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective relationships across all levels of the organisation.
  • Hold an accreditation in Risk Management from a recognised body like Risk Management Institute of Australasia (RMIA) or Governance Institute of Australia (GIA), or be willing to obtain one after joining AustralianSuper.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and translate external regulatory requirements to shape business outcomes

What you need to know about the Melbourne Tech Scene

Home to 650 biotech companies, 10 major research institutes and nine universities, Melbourne is among one of the top cities for biotech. In fact, some of the greatest medical advancements were conceptualized and developed here, including Symex Lab's "lab-on-a-chip" solution that monitors hormones to predict ovulation for conception, and Denteric's vaccine for periodontal gum disease. Yet, the thousands of people working in the city's healthtech sector are just getting started, to say nothing of the tech advancements across all other sectors.
