About the Project
The Southern Program Alliance is contracted by Victorian Government to remove most dangerous and congested level crossings. This is a critical infrastructure project with significant public impact.

The Opportunity
Reporting to the Construction Manager, The Project Engineer provides technical oversight and management, translating engineering goals into actionable plans ensuring project objectives are met by supporting design, managing contractors, and liaising with stakeholders. They also solve on-site technical problems, document project progress, and ensure compliance with standards and legislation.
Responsibilities
- Day to day management of project construction activities for the scope of work
- Monitor and report the performance of the workforce and subcontractors on site to ensure technical, program, quality, environmental, industrial relations, safety and commercial obligations are achieved and maintained.
- Plan and procure appropriate resources to fulfil program requirements (plant, labour, materials and subcontractor requirements)
- Identify and support supervisor with coordination of trades and subcontractors.
- Plan, manage and implement the site establishment activities necessary to ensure all site specific and contract requirements are met in terms of location, fencing, signage, environmental and traffic conditions.
- Identification, analysis and mitigation of potential risk events including establishment of risk register and initiation of corrective action when required
- Manage changes to scope, deliverables, schedule and budget
- Analyse variance, trends, risks and opportunities, key business drivers and sensitivities, highlighting significant operational performance issues to management
Required Skills and Competencies
- Tertiary qualified in Civil Engineering or civil
- Minimum 4 years` experience as a project-based engineer in the construction engineering industry, in disciplines such as rail and associated civil infrastructure.
- Demonstrated experienced in a similar role
- Current Driver Licence and your own reliable vehicle
