Product Design Lead (Hybrid IC/Manager), Entertainment Focus

We’re looking for an experienced Product Design Lead with a deep passion for digital collecting, entertainment experiences, and creating engaging consumer products. This is a hybrid Individual Contributor (IC) and Manager role where you will be instrumental in leading the design vision and execution as we evolve Magic Eden into its next phase, heavily focused on entertainment and new consumer experiences.

You will lead, mentor, and build a team of first-class product designers while contributing deeply and strategically to our product vision. You will execute and manage high-quality design work and create a best-in-class user experience for a platform that connects collectors with new worlds of value and fun.

Responsibilities:
  • Spearhead the design evolution of Magic Eden as we shift focus toward entertainment-centric product lines, consumer-facing experiences, and new verticals.

  • Lead the team of product designers across existing product lines, creator products, and new initiatives, providing both hands-on design contribution and management/mentorship.

  • Collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, and Business leaders to craft product strategy and produce designs that help achieve business goals, are of appropriate scope, and are technically feasible to build.

  • Create detailed user flows, wireframes, high-fidelity designs, and prototypes for specific product areas. As well as coordinate work across the design team to ensure consistency and a high-quality bar.

  • Build and maintain a design system that promotes consistency and supports quick product scaling.

  • Coordinate with Engineering to confirm accurate design implementation and revisions.

What you bring:
  • 7+ years experience as an UI or UX designer building and designing consumer-facing products, at least 2 years managing teams.

  • A strong passion for real-world collectible assets (like Pokémon cards, sports cards, comic books, or vintage toys) and an intuitive understanding of the collector mindset.

  • Significant interest in digital collectibles and the wider web3 space, including deep intuitions around crypto-native product thinking.

  • Proven ability to thrive as a hybrid IC/Manager, capable of setting high-level strategy while diving deep into hands-on design execution.

  • Systems-level thinking and experience scaling a rapidly growing product.

  • Experience leading a design team, setting appropriate culture, and working closely with product and engineering to ship successful products.

  • Track record of operating independently, demonstrating creativity, being detail-oriented, and delivering results in an organized manner.

  • Proficiency with Figma and web + mobile design standards.

  • Excellent communication and writing skills.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment.

Pay & Benefits:
  • A fast-paced and collaborative environment

  • Competitive compensation and equity options

  • Flexible PTO

  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision plans

  • Wellness and work from home allowance

  • Remote-first company

What you need to know about the Melbourne Tech Scene

Home to 650 biotech companies, 10 major research institutes and nine universities, Melbourne is among one of the top cities for biotech. In fact, some of the greatest medical advancements were conceptualized and developed here, including Symex Lab's "lab-on-a-chip" solution that monitors hormones to predict ovulation for conception, and Denteric's vaccine for periodontal gum disease. Yet, the thousands of people working in the city's healthtech sector are just getting started, to say nothing of the tech advancements across all other sectors.
