About the role
This role leads the uplift of our internal Originations processes and drives system capability and friction removal across AU and NZ to continuously improve time to decision, PT%, defect reduction and operational efficiency. You’ll drive end‑to‑end process reviews, champion automation and STP opportunities, and leverage frontline insights while working closely with key internal partners.
You’ll also represent Originations in enterprise and Pay projects—acting as a key Originations owner for capability rollouts, migrations, and system enhancements—with a strong focus on reducing manual handling, increasing agent alignment, and preparing for future optimisation and AI‑enabled workflows.
Responsibilities:
- Lead internal process reviews and uplift to improve efficiency, accuracy, and reduce manual handling.
- Align Originations processes across AU/NZ and support x‑skill rollout and embedding.
- Partner with Credit Risk, Pay Tech, Shared Services, QA and Product to identify and implement improvement opportunities, leveraging systemic defect, friction point and complaint insights.
- Research, size and present system capability opportunities to key stakeholder and forums for prioritization and funding.
- Leverage existing and emerging tools—including AI—to maximise automation and future‑ready workflow design.
- Act as the Pay Card Originations owner across projects, capability rollouts and migrations.
- Build and maintain a prioritised backlog of improvement initiatives with benefits tracking and opportunity sizing.
- Lead and support direct reports, fostering capability uplift, alignment and delivery excellence.
- Support process readiness for future anticipated PnP AI ingestion.
What you’ll bring:
- Proven experience in process improvement and operational excellence within financial services or similar environments.
- Strong capability in change management and cross‑functional stakeholder engagement.
- Ability to work comfortably in ambiguity and adapt quickly to evolving priorities and requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver outcomes within agreed timelines while managing competing priorities and multiple projects.
- Knowledge of automation tools and readiness for AI‑driven process enhancements.
- Skilled in producing high‑quality documentation, including process maps, business cases, and improvement summaries that support decision‑making and change adoption
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with a continuous‑improvement mindset
- Ability to build and leverage strong internal networks across Technology, Credit Risk and Compliance, Product and Shared Services to influence and drive change.
- Leadership capability to guide, develop and support direct reports in delivering high‑quality operational and process outcomes
