Snowflake is about empowering enterprises to achieve their full potential — and people too. With a culture that’s all in on impact, innovation, and collaboration, Snowflake is the sweet spot for building big, moving fast, and taking technology — and careers — to the next level.

We are looking for a Principal Solution Engineer who will serve as a dedicated trusted advisor and proactive strategic technology partner for Major accounts. In this role you will work directly with C-level executives, data leaders, and engineering teams to influence the data, AI and technology roadmap while driving expanded consumption and adoption of Snowflake's AI Data Cloud platform. You will also serve as the technical customer advocate internally at Snowflake, working closely with our product managers and technical executive sponsors to ensure customer needs drive product innovation.

As a Snowflake Principal Solution Engineer you must excel at translating complex technical concepts into compelling business value propositions that resonate with executive stakeholders. You thrive in strategic account environments, have exceptional C-level communication skills, and possess the gravitas to influence technology roadmaps at the highest organizational levels. You are equally comfortable presenting to boards and CEOs as you are collaborating with engineering teams and advocating for customer requirements with our internal product organization.

In this role you will get to:
  • Present Snowflake's AI Data Cloud technology and strategic vision to C-level executives, translating complex technical capabilities into clear business value propositions that drive strategic decision-making

  • Work hands-on with our customer’s technical teams to architect sophisticated data and AI solutions while communicating business impact and ROI to executive leadership through quarterly business reviews and strategic planning sessions

  • Serve as the customer’s primary technical advocate within Snowflake, partnering closely with our product managers and technical executive sponsors to ensure their strategic needs influence our product roadmap and feature development priorities

  • Immerse yourself in the customer’s business model, competitive landscape, and strategic priorities to proactively identify opportunities where Snowflake's platform can accelerate their innovation and market leadership

  • Lead executive briefings, strategic architecture sessions, and board presentations that align technical roadmaps with business strategy and competitive positioning

  • Collaborate with Snowflake's Product Management, Engineering, and executive leadership to continuously improve our products based on strategic customer feedback and requirements

On day one we will expect you to have:
  • 10+ years of industry experience with significant C-level executive exposure and proven track record managing large enterprise accounts

  • Experience working with modern data technology (e.g. dbt, spark, containers, devops tooling, orchestration tools, git, etc.)

  • Deep expertise in cloud data platforms, AI/ML technologies (including LLMs, machine learning pipelines, and MLOps), data warehousing, and modern data architecture

  • Hands-on expertise with SQL, Python, and data modeling concepts, with ability to explain complex technical architectures in business terms

  • Exceptional presentation and communication skills specifically with C-level executives, including demonstrated ability to translate highly complex technical concepts into compelling business value propositions that drive executive decision-making

  • Proven experience working with product management teams to influence roadmaps, prioritize features, and drive customer-centric development through effective internal advocacy

  • Outstanding ability to conduct executive briefings, board presentations, and strategic planning sessions with senior leadership teams across technical and business functions

  • Strong track record of internal advocacy within technology companies, representing customer needs to product and engineering organizations while facilitating cross-functional collaboration

  • Experience in SaaS, consumer technology, or design/creative industries preferred, with understanding of business intelligence, analytics, and data-driven decision making

  • University degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics or related fields, or equivalent experience preferred. Masters in Data Science or Business Administration is a plus

  • Experience facilitating C-level strategic planning sessions focused on data and AI strategy would be beneficial but not required

About Our Team:

Our Principal Solution Engineers are customer obsessed and serve as the bridge between our most strategic customers and our internal product organization. We believe in the transformative power of executive relationships and technical advocacy. We love to learn, are open to giving and receiving feedback, and are passionate about making our clients successful while ensuring their voice shapes Snowflake's future. Our team works to ensure data is accessible, usable and valuable to everyone while driving product innovation through customer advocacy.

About Snowflake

Snowflake started with a clear vision: make modern data warehousing effective, affordable, and accessible to all data users. Because traditional on-premises and cloud solutions struggle with this, Snowflake developed an innovative product with a new built-for-the-cloud architecture that combines the power of data warehousing, the flexibility of big data platforms, and the elasticity of the cloud at a fraction of the cost of traditional solutions.

Snowflake is growing fast, and we’re scaling our team to help enable and accelerate our growth. We are looking for people who share our values, challenge ordinary thinking, and push the pace of innovation while building a future for themselves and Snowflake.

What you need to know about the Melbourne Tech Scene

Home to 650 biotech companies, 10 major research institutes and nine universities, Melbourne is among one of the top cities for biotech. In fact, some of the greatest medical advancements were conceptualized and developed here, including Symex Lab's "lab-on-a-chip" solution that monitors hormones to predict ovulation for conception, and Denteric's vaccine for periodontal gum disease. Yet, the thousands of people working in the city's healthtech sector are just getting started, to say nothing of the tech advancements across all other sectors.
