Job Description

Ramsay Pharmacy Group is seeking an experienced Pharmacy Operations Manager to join our leadership team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This is a unique opportunity for an accomplished pharmacy leader to oversee operations across both hospital and community pharmacies across Australia. Reporting directly to Head of Pharmacy, the Pharmacy Operations Manager will provide leadership and support to a team of Pharmacy Area Managers who collectively oversee more than 100 pharmacy locations across Australia. Thie role has responsibility for a workforce of approximately 1400 team members across hospital dispensaries and community franchise pharmacies.

Key Responsibilities

Working closely with Pharmacy Area Managers and key stakeholders across the business, the Pharmacy Operations Manager will be responsible for:

Operational Leadership

  • Providing strategic and operational leadership across hospital and community pharmacy operations.
  • Driving consistent delivery of operational standards, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.
  • Supporting Area Managers to achieve business performance, workforce, clinical, and customer service outcomes.
  • Leading business improvement initiatives and ensuring alignment with Ramsay Pharmacy's strategic priorities.
  • Developing strong relationships with franchisees, hospital executives, and key support functions.

Financial & Commercial Performance

  • Delivery of revenue and profitability targets in line with budget expectations.
  • Oversight of pharmacy labour costs and workforce efficiency.
  • Support delivery of pharmacy strategic initiatives
  • Monitoring business performance and implementing strategies to improve commercial outcomes.

People Leadership

  • Leading, coaching, and developing the Area Manager and wider pharmacy team.
  • Supporting succession planning, workforce capability development, and talent management.
  • Driving employee engagement initiatives and fostering a positive workplace culture.
  • Ensuring mandatory training and compliance requirements are achieved across all sites.

Customer Experience & Quality

  • Championing patient and customer-centred care.
  • Driving achievement of Net Promoter Score (NPS) targets across the network.
  • Ensuring timely response and resolution of operational incidents.

The Person

The successful applicant will be a qualified Pharmacist with senior management experience with demonstrated experience leading large and geographically dispersed teams. They will demonstrate strong commercial acumen, including budget management and operational execution, together with exceptional leadership and people development capabilities. The role requires highly developed stakeholder engagement and the ability to analyse data and drive continuous improvement. The successful applicant will also have advanced organisational and communication skills together with the ability to create positive relationships with all stake holders.

Location and Travel

The office for this position can be located in Brisbane or Melbourne and will be discussed in more detail at interview.  There will be a need to travel to meet the needs of the business.
