This is a globally scoped role with a strong operational focus, centered around execution, HR data management, and process support across multiple regions. In addition, the role provides local HR operational support for our Mauritius office.

The role focuses on maintaining high data accuracy, ensuring smooth execution of HR processes, and supporting HR systems at scale, rather than leading or designing HR strategies or processes.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Global People Operations (Primary Focus)

  • Maintain and update employee data across HR systems (HRIS), ensuring high accuracy, consistency and data integrity across regions.
  • Execute global employee lifecycle processes, including onboarding, employee changes, and offboarding.
  • Manage and maintain employee documentation, ensuring completeness and compliance.
  • Track HR processes and follow up on missing data, approvals, or inconsistencies.
  • Support payroll inputs by ensuring accurate and timely employee data updates.
  • Work closely with HR, Finance, Legal global teams to ensure alignment of employee data across systems.
  • Support global HR processes and projects from an operational and coordination perspective.

Mauritius Local HR generalist (Secondary Focus)

  • Serve as the first point of contact for day-to-day HR matters for employees in Mauritius.
  • Support onboarding logistics, documentation, and employee setup.
  • Handle employee lifecycle administrative tasks (contracts, changes, offboarding) in alignment with global processes.
  • Coordinate with global teams on payroll inputs and HR processes.
  • Support local engagement initiatives and internal communications from an execution perspective. 
Requirements
  • 4-6 years of experience in People Operations / HR Operations / HR Coordinator roles
  • Hands-on experience working with HR systems (HRIS) and managing employee data
  • Strong understanding of employee lifecycle processes from an operational perspective
  • High attention to detail with a strong focus on accuracy and data integrity
  • Ability to effectively leverage AI tools and technologies in day-to-day work to enhance productivity, decision-making, communication, and execution quality. Candidates must demonstrate practical AI application relevant to the role and a continuous learning mindset to adapt to rapidly evolving AI capabilities, in line with Papaya’s AI-first operating model.
