Canberra is the preferred location, with opportunities also available in Sydney or Melbourne for Network Engineers with some existing experience. 

This is a day-shift role, five days on site, with an on-call rotation of around one week every two months.

What you'll do 

Working within Telstra Enterprise Operations, you’ll support critical services for Defence and enterprise customers. You will: 

  • Investigate, diagnose, and resolve complex network incidents and problems 

  • Implement large-scale network changes in line with customer and change management processes 

  • CIP Pre-reviews 

  • Perform release and deployment management activities. 

  • Provide technical escalation support to Level 3 Engineers within the DNOC 

  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation for internal and customer stakeholders 

About you 

  • Ideally around 2 years' experience as a core Network Engineer  

  • NV1 security clearance (mandatory) - Bonus points for NV2 

  • Strong understanding and some hands-on experience in core routing/ switching and data communication 

  • Practical experience with VLANs, Spanning-Tree, wireless technologies, and WAN/BAN routing protocols (OSPF, BGP) 

  • Experience with Juniper, Cisco, Nortel, or Avaya networking products 

Bonus points for: 

  • CCNA + ITIL Foundation or Practitioner certification  

  • Defence or enterprise ICT environment experience  

Candidates must hold an active current Defence clearance to be considered. This role will require you to hold and maintain a minimum Australian Government NV1  security clearance.
