The Network Engineer - Infrastructure will support and maintain critical network infrastructure environments, combining operational support, project delivery and hands-on technical work across networking, security and datacentre technologies. Working closely with both internal and client-facing teams, they will help deliver reliable, secure and high-performing solutions.


Requirements

What you'll do:

  • Take ownership of day-to-day provisioning and troubleshooting activities, ensuring issues are resolved efficiently and to a high standard
  • Plan, coordinate and deliver network-related projects across a variety of technologies and environments
  • Act as an escalation point for client-facing teams, responding to incidents and driving timely resolutions
  • Perform hands-on datacentre work including patching, hardware installations and equipment removals
  • Manage ongoing maintenance activities including software upgrades, firmware updates and system improvements
  • Maintain clear and accurate technical documentation, ensuring procedures and knowledge bases remain current and reliable

What you'll bring:

Essential

  • Strong fundamental networking knowledge across Layer 2, 3 and 4 protocols
  • Experience working with BGP, MPLS and OSPF
  • Security fundamentals and hands-on firewall configuration experience
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with Juniper routers
  • Experience with Cisco routing and switching
  • Experience with Fortigate firewalls
  • Experience with Linux and Windows operating systems
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned tasks
  • A quick learner with a willingness to continue learning and studying to further your career
  • Must be able to obtain an NV1 security clearance

Desirable:

  • Experience with Voice and SIP call flow troubleshooting
  • Experience with containerisation and Kubernetes
  • Experience with other Fortinet products including FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer, EMS and SIEM
  • Certifications across any of the mentioned vendors or technologies
