The Network Engineer is responsible for supporting, maintaining, and improving client network environments to ensure high availability, performance, and security. This role works closely with client Network Engineers, the Service Desk, and the Network Operations Centre to troubleshoot incidents, deliver network projects, and proactively identify opportunities for optimisation. The Network Engineer plays a key role in maintaining reliable enterprise networks through effective incident response, configuration management, documentation, and ongoing collaboration with internal teams and clients.


Requirements

What you'll be do:

  • Day-to-day management of client tickets by troubleshooting and resolving network-related issues. 
  • Support client Network Engineers to plan and implement network-related projects. 
  • Responding to incidents and resolving issues escalated by the service desk team promptly. 
  • Monitoring the client network's overall performance to assess the need for updates, upgrades, and enhancements, including preventive maintenance and recommending options for upgrading and improving network performance. 
  • Conducting firmware upgrades in a timely manner, communicating with the client. 
  • Ensuring documentation and procedures are always up to date. 
  • Liaising with the wider Network Operations Centre team daily. 

What you'll bring:

  • Experience as a Network Engineer 
  • In-depth knowledge of Cisco Routers, Aruba switches, Fortinet, Juniper, and Palo Alto firewalls 
  • Thorough understanding of switching protocols including VLANs, Spanning Tree, HSRP/VRRP, LAG, and other switching protocols used in Enterprise Networks. 
  • Experience configuring Firewalls, Wireless Controllers, and Access Points. 
  • Experience with Voice and SIP call flow troubleshooting. 
  • Experience in Aruba Clearpass Policy Manager 
  • Experience with Microsoft Teams and SBCs - Audiocodes experience is a bonus. 
  • In-depth understanding and experience of routing protocols. 
  • Experience configuring and troubleshooting IPSec Site to Site VPNs 
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 

Please note that all team members must have a valid state-based Working with Children Check (WWCC), Police check, and be authorised to work in Australia.
