This role sits at the intersection of product, engineering, finance, and commercial teams, with a strong focus on billing accuracy, automation, and scalable cloud commerce. In the short term, you’ll play a pivotal role in migrating customers onto Versent’s Microsoft billing platform; longer term, you’ll help shape a modern, automated billing and commerce experience that supports sustained growth.
What You’ll Be Doing;
Product & Operations

  • Support and operate Versent’s Microsoft Cloud Access & Resell billing product

  • Define and maintain the product vision, roadmap, and prioritised backlog

  • Lead end‑to‑end lifecycle management for Microsoft Resell and related platforms

  • Act as the central point of contact for Microsoft product catalogue offerings, ensuring accurate subscription pricing

  • Identify and resolve billing inconsistencies, credits, refunds, and commitment shortfalls

  • Drive automation to improve revenue visibility, reporting accuracy, and operational efficiency

Engineering & Delivery

  • Partner closely with engineering teams from discovery through to release

  • Lead the evolution of the Microsoft billing engine architecture, aligned with AWS billing where possible

  • Drive automation and optimisation across billing engines, reporting, and MIS dashboards

  • Manage and continuously refine the Microsoft Cloud Access product backlog

Finance & Commercial

  • Partner with Finance to ensure billing accuracy, compliance, and commercial integrity

  • Manage customer‑facing and Microsoft supplier‑facing billing and payable matters

  • Support financial targets across gross revenue, margins, EBITDA, MRR, renewals, and retention

  • Validate sales claims and ensure accuracy of Microsoft‑related financial operations

  • Monitor market trends, competitive pressures, and regulatory considerations

Cross‑Cloud Collaboration

  • Work closely with the AWS Product Manager to align cross‑cloud billing and commerce strategies

  • Support consistent, scalable billing experiences across Microsoft and AWS platforms

What You’ll Bring

  • 5+ years’ experience in Product Management or Program Management

  • Proven success owning product roadmaps and delivering complex platforms end‑to‑end

  • Experience with Microsoft billing, CSP, cloud commerce, or subscription platforms

  • Strong stakeholder management skills across technology, finance, and commercial teams

  • High attention to detail, particularly in billing, reporting, or revenue‑impacting products

  • Comfort working in ambiguity with competing priorities

  • A mindset that balances operational excellence with forward‑looking product development

What you need to know about the Melbourne Tech Scene

Home to 650 biotech companies, 10 major research institutes and nine universities, Melbourne is among one of the top cities for biotech. In fact, some of the greatest medical advancements were conceptualized and developed here, including Symex Lab's "lab-on-a-chip" solution that monitors hormones to predict ovulation for conception, and Denteric's vaccine for periodontal gum disease. Yet, the thousands of people working in the city's healthtech sector are just getting started, to say nothing of the tech advancements across all other sectors.
