About The Team

At its core, credit is trust extended over time. Every credit decision shapes customer outcomes, portfolio performance, and the long-term resilience of the bank. To support the modernisation of our function we are building a more integrated practitioner model that goes beyond traditional functional boundaries by playing an active role in shaping, delivering and continuously improving credit outcomes.

About the role

We're looking for a Credit Procedures & Change Manager to help shape and enhance our Credit Risk function. In this role, you'll leverage your credit policy, process improvement and change management expertise to design, implement and optimise credit procedures, operational frameworks and decisioning processes across the credit lifecycle.

Working closely with Product, Distribution, Technology, Operations and Risk teams, you'll translate strategy, policy and regulatory requirements into practical, well-governed solutions that improve customer outcomes, operational effectiveness and portfolio performance.

You'll take end-to-end ownership of change outcomes—from identifying opportunities and assessing impacts through to implementation, monitoring and continuous improvement—while also contributing to team capability through collaboration, knowledge sharing and ongoing professional development.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex problems, driving meaningful change and turning strategy into tangible business outcomes.

What you'll do

Credit Policy, Procedure & Change Design
Support the design and implementation of credit procedures, operational frameworks and decisioning processes, translating policy, regulatory and business requirements into practical outcomes that balance customer, risk and commercial objectives.

Governance, Controls & Risk Management
Embed strong governance, testing and control practices to ensure changes are well-managed, compliant, and aligned to policy, risk appetite and regulatory expectations.

Performance Improvement & Optimisation
Monitor and enhance the effectiveness of credit procedures and operational changes, identifying opportunities to improve customer outcomes, operational efficiency and portfolio performance.

Stakeholder Collaboration & Delivery
Partner with Product, Technology, Operations and Risk teams to implement effective credit policy and process changes, driving strong delivery outcomes and continuous improvement.

What you'll bring

  • Experience in retail credit risk, banking, financial services, or similarly complex operational environments, with expertise across credit policy, lending operations, risk management, decisioning, change delivery, or process improvement.
  • Strong understanding of the end-to-end credit lifecycle, including credit decisioning, originations, portfolio management, collections, and regulatory or policy implementation.
  • Experience working with credit decisioning, workflow, or operational platforms such as Experian PowerCurve, FICO, Pega, Provenir, Ab Initio, E1, or similar technologies.
  • Proven ability to translate business, policy, and regulatory requirements into practical solutions, balancing customer, risk, operational, and commercial outcomes.
  • Knowledge of governance, controls, testing, validation, and risk management practices within regulated environments, with experience supporting change and implementation initiatives.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement, problem-solving, and collaboration skills, with a demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement, learning, and team success.
  • Tertiary qualification in business, finance, risk, law, technology, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.

Why this Role is Distinct

This role reflects a broader shift in how Credit Risk operates, toward a more connected, execution-focused and outcomes-driven practitioner model.

You will have the opportunity to influence customer, operational and portfolio outcomes by helping shape credit policies, procedures and decision frameworks, improving governance and controls, strengthening implementation quality and contributing to the evolution of modern credit practices.

Why Join Us

You will join a team that values curiosity, accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement where team members are encouraged to own outcomes, challenge constructively and grow capability over time.

We recognise that great candidates may not meet every role requirement listed above. If your experience aligns strongly with many of the areas outlined and you are excited by the opportunity to grow further in Credit Risk, we encourage you to apply.

What you need to know about the Melbourne Tech Scene

Home to 650 biotech companies, 10 major research institutes and nine universities, Melbourne is among one of the top cities for biotech. In fact, some of the greatest medical advancements were conceptualized and developed here, including Symex Lab's "lab-on-a-chip" solution that monitors hormones to predict ovulation for conception, and Denteric's vaccine for periodontal gum disease. Yet, the thousands of people working in the city's healthtech sector are just getting started, to say nothing of the tech advancements across all other sectors.
