Groupon is a marketplace where customers discover new experiences and services everyday and local businesses thrive. To date we have worked with over a million merchant partners worldwide, connecting over 16 million customers with deals across various categories. In a world often dominated by e-commerce giants, we stand out as one of the few platforms uniquely committed to helping local businesses succeed on a performance basis.

Groupon is on a radical journey to transform our business with relentless pursuit of results. Even with thousands of employees spread across multiple continents, we still maintain a culture that inspires innovation, rewards risk-taking and celebrates success. The impact here can be immediate due to our scale and the speed of our transformation. We're a "best of both worlds" kind of company. We're big enough to have the resources and scale, but small enough that a single person has a surprising amount of autonomy and can make a meaningful impact.

At Groupon, we build some of the top sales talent in Australia. Are you ready to become one of them?

Groupon is the largest online marketplace that helps people discover local experiences—big and small, new and familiar—through real-time mobile commerce across businesses, events, and travel destinations. Our platform empowers businesses to grow, strengthen customer relationships, and contribute to vibrant communities.

Our mission is to make Groupon a daily habit for local commerce by connecting people to a global marketplace for local services and experiences. We positively impact millions of customers and merchants worldwide, maintaining a culture that fosters innovation, rewards risk-taking, and embraces change. If you’re ready to take ownership of your career and help local businesses succeed, Groupon is the place for you.

As a National Key Account Manager, your main goal will be identifying and closing new national business opportunities while building and expanding your portfolio over time. We are looking for a candidate with 7-10 years of experience, strong industry knowledge, and expertise in the Food and Beverage industry to help grow our partnerships and scale businesses with well-known brands across Australia.

You’ll spend your time on the following:

  • Seeking out new business opportunities by targeting National merchants through cold calling, consultations, and closing deals.
  • Developing a deep understanding of each merchant’s business, including their experiences, target demographics, competitive advantages, and revenue drivers.
  • Applying deal structure and strategy knowledge to achieve both Groupon’s and the merchant’s goals, maximizing profitability.
  • Leading contract negotiations, including managing margins, discounts, and other key terms.
  • Consistently meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Working closely with Merchant Development teams post-sale to ensure smooth account transitions and alignment on merchant strategies.
  • Driving market growth by bringing in high-quality merchants and increasing revenue.

We’re excited about you if you:

  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree or have relevant work experience.
  • Have 5+ years of proven success in a National Key Account Management role, with strong industry knowledge.
  • Have experience in inside sales (via phone, email, and social selling).
  • Understand transactional selling and are comfortable working with big National brands.
  • Have demonstrated success in meeting sales quotas, handling negotiations, and solving problems.
  • Are able to make sound sales decisions based on instinct and judgment.
  • Have a strong sense of accountability and can deliver results.
  • Are flexible, adaptable, and comfortable with change, finding creative solutions in challenging situations.
  • Are resilient, inspiring passion in others, and take full ownership of your performance.
  • Can balance multiple priorities effectively while maintaining a high standard of integrity and work ethic.
  • Are an excellent listener, and also assertive, persistent, and persuasive when needed.
  • Experience with Salesforce or other CRM platforms is a plus.

Be cautious of individuals falsely representing Groupon's Talent Acquisition team with fake job offers. If you encounter any suspicious job offers or interview calls demanding money, recognize these as scams. Groupon is not responsible for losses from such dealings. What you need to know about the Melbourne Tech Scene

Home to 650 biotech companies, 10 major research institutes and nine universities, Melbourne is among one of the top cities for biotech. In fact, some of the greatest medical advancements were conceptualized and developed here, including Symex Lab's "lab-on-a-chip" solution that monitors hormones to predict ovulation for conception, and Denteric's vaccine for periodontal gum disease. Yet, the thousands of people working in the city's healthtech sector are just getting started, to say nothing of the tech advancements across all other sectors.
