  • Act as Account Chair on key major accounts, leading client strategy, governance, insurer engagement and executive‑level relationships.
  • Partner with Commercial and Corporate division leaders to deliver integrated, whole‑of‑client risk solutions.
  • Lead, mentor and develop an established team of Financial Lines specialists, fostering technical excellence, collaboration and succession.
  • Set and execute the divisional strategy, including market positioning, insurer relationships and capability development.
  • Maintain senior relationships with key insurers, underwriting leaders and market stakeholders, negotiating complex placements and program structures.
  • Provide technical leadership on complex risks, claims strategy and coverage design for priority clients.
  • Ensure the division operates within a strong compliance, governance and regulatory framework.
  • Contribute to broader business leadership initiatives, including executive planning, brand positioning and major tender activity.
  • Represent the business externally where appropriate at industry events, panels and senior client forums.
Skills and Experience That Will Lead to Success
  • Extensive experience in Financial Lines insurance within a senior broking or underwriting leadership role.
  • Proven track record of leading teams and driving growth across complex Commercial and Corporate client portfolios.
  • Demonstrated capability as a senior trusted adviser to Boards, Executives and risk committees.
  • Strong strategic mindset with the ability to translate vision into actionable outcomes.
  • Deep technical expertise across core Financial Lines products and complex risk placement.
  • Highly developed stakeholder management and insurer negotiation skills.
  • Commercially astute, with strong financial discipline and portfolio management capability.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications with industry‑recognised insurance and compliance credentials (minimum Tier 1). Senior underwriting leaders with equivalent experience are encouraged to apply.

What you need to know about the Melbourne Tech Scene

Home to 650 biotech companies, 10 major research institutes and nine universities, Melbourne is among one of the top cities for biotech. In fact, some of the greatest medical advancements were conceptualized and developed here, including Symex Lab's "lab-on-a-chip" solution that monitors hormones to predict ovulation for conception, and Denteric's vaccine for periodontal gum disease. Yet, the thousands of people working in the city's healthtech sector are just getting started, to say nothing of the tech advancements across all other sectors.
