Your role

At Allens, our business teams are also specialists in their field, using their unique knowledge and expertise to solve critical client and business challenges.

You'll be a part of our Innovation & Digital Solutions team based in Sydney or Melbourne, reporting to the Head of Innovation Services.  The Innovation Centre delivers program and projects aligned with Allens Digital & AI strategic priorities, with a key focus on empowering people to transform their teams and work practices.

Our operating model is evolving so this role deliberately spans both hands‑on delivery and longer‑term transformation. In the near term, you will be closely involved in the implementation and early adoption of high‑impact digital legal solutions supporting partners and lawyers through training, coaching and practical use. Over time, the focus shifts to driving sustainable adoption practices and value at scale, using data and insight to inform how digital and AI use is embedded into legal practice and enablement roles across the firm.

As a Digital Enablement Manager you will:

  • Establish and lead a digital enablement community across the firm to share best practice, improve consistency, and support alignment in how digital and AI solutions are embedded into legal work.

  • Partner closely with Practice Group Leaders, Solution Owners and Digital & AI Partners to embed digital and AI tools into day‑to‑day legal work

  • Drive the adoption and effective use of digital solutions across legal practice to ensure measurable value from the firm’s digital investments

  • Assume responsibility for developing and coordinating adoption plans for core digital practice solutions, collaborating with digital enablement roles to agree delivery approaches, success metrics and KPIs.

  • Establish and maintain robust reporting frameworks to track usage, impact, and hours transformed through digital tools.

  • Analyse success metrics and inform evidence‑based decisions on resourcing, pricing and workforce design, translating insights into clear commercial and operational recommendations for senior stakeholders and decision makers.

  • Design and deliver user engagement, awareness and change initiatives to support sustained adoption, including providing expert guidance and coaching to partners, lawyers and project teams on digital adoption and change.

  • Collaborate with SMEs and learning teams to shape and deliver digital capability uplift through training, coaching and just‑in‑time learning.

  • Build strong cross‑practice and corporate services relationships, particularly with the Knowledge, Product Lab and Learning teams, to ensure consistent, scalable and sustainable digital enablement.

This is a permanent, full-time opportunity. At Allens we have a hybrid working structure, typically 60% in the office and 40% from home. We would be happy to discuss any other flexible working arrangements that best support you.

About you

You will have:

  • Experience driving digital adoption, change and capability uplift in a legal or professional services environment

  • Strong analytical and commercial judgement, with the ability to turn adoption data into actionable business insights

  • Proven stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, including credibility with partners and senior leaders

  • Experience designing and delivering learning and engagement programs that build practical digital capability

  • A disciplined and organised approach, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver against agreed outcomes

  • High proficiency with Microsoft 365 and experience using planning and reporting tools (e.g. Teams Planner, Jira, Confluence, Power BI)

  • A collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively across practice groups and corporate services teams

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in law, technology, business or a related discipline (preferred)

  • A desire to learn, grow, network, mentor others

What you need to know about the Melbourne Tech Scene

Home to 650 biotech companies, 10 major research institutes and nine universities, Melbourne is among one of the top cities for biotech. In fact, some of the greatest medical advancements were conceptualized and developed here, including Symex Lab's "lab-on-a-chip" solution that monitors hormones to predict ovulation for conception, and Denteric's vaccine for periodontal gum disease. Yet, the thousands of people working in the city's healthtech sector are just getting started, to say nothing of the tech advancements across all other sectors.
