A First Nations university student internship providing hands-on experience in corporate business teams such as operations, finance, IT, digital services, knowledge services, marketing, and people development. Interns work on real projects, receive mentoring and support, build professional networks, and explore career pathways beyond legal practice across Allens’ Australian offices.

The First Nations Legal Internship provides Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander law students with practical experience in a commercial legal environment. Interns join a practice group, work alongside lawyers on real matters, participate in community and pro bono activities, and receive mentoring from a partner and junior lawyer. The program also provides exposure to career pathways, clerkship recruitment, networking, and professional development across Allens’ Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, and Perth offices.

Manage early careers recruitment and development programs, including university engagement, careers events, clerkship and graduate campaigns, candidate experience, onboarding, and emerging talent relationships. Partner with senior stakeholders across the firm, lead attraction and social media initiatives, and use data and technology to improve recruitment outcomes. This is a 12-month maximum-term contract based in Melbourne with hybrid working.

Advise energy and infrastructure clients on project development transactions, including power purchase, construction, operations, development, acquisition, disposal, and energy trading agreements. Conduct legal due diligence and regulatory analysis, manage matters, support business development, develop client relationships, and contribute to mentoring and internal networks.

Qualified lawyers will draft and review legal documents, manage matters and transactions, conduct due diligence, provide complex legal advice, negotiate with clients, develop business, manage junior lawyers, and oversee discovery and e-discovery. Practice areas include litigation, M&A, banking and finance, technology, funds, employment, projects, competition, tax, and intellectual property. The role is permanent, full-time, and hybrid across Australian offices.

As a Workday Reporting Consultant, you will deliver advanced reporting and analytics, maintain security, support compensation activities, and resolve Workday queries.

As an Associate/Senior Associate in the Mergers & Acquisitions and Capital Markets team, you will handle various M&A transactions, manage smaller matters, and support broader corporate advisory work while gaining exposure to multiple sectors.

Provide dedicated knowledge management support to the Mergers & Acquisitions and Capital Markets team: curate precedents, track legal developments, create user resources and training, pilot and implement AI/legal-tech solutions, and project-manage KM initiatives to improve lawyer productivity and client outcomes.

Support and maintain the firm's infrastructure and cloud platforms. Assist in deploying and managing Azure using IaC/Terraform, implement cloud governance and security controls, troubleshoot infrastructure issues, participate in operational projects and out-of-hours maintenance, and document operational procedures while working with senior engineers and other IT teams.

Provide complex legal advice, draft and review documents, manage matters and transactions, conduct due diligence, lead client negotiations, supervise junior lawyers, support business development, and manage discovery/e-discovery across multiple practice areas.

Advise clients on construction and infrastructure project disputes, including arbitration, Supreme Court litigation, expert determination, mediations, DRBs/DABs, adjudication under Security of Payment, and commercial/contractual claim resolution. Manage larger matters, collaborate with partners and client teams, participate in business development, and mentor junior lawyers.

Partner with bid teams, partners and lawyers to develop pricing and negotiation strategies, design bespoke and alternative fee arrangements, review commercial terms, use pricing tools and data to assess profitability, shape AI-enabled pricing strategies, improve pricing infrastructure, and contribute to strategic initiatives and team development.

As a Senior Associate in Tax, you will provide advisory and dispute resolution services to clients, manage tax-related matters, and collaborate with other practice groups while developing your skills within a flexible working environment.

Provide specialist legal advice on cyber preparedness and incident response, complex data/privacy matters, AI governance, regulatory investigations and enforcement. Work with cross-firm teams to advise boards and executives, manage large matters, lead teams, and support business development.

As an Associate/Senior Associate, you'll advise clients on complex investment structures and compliance issues in superannuation and financial services sectors.
