At Mars, we are driven by a shared purpose: A Better World for Pets. We believe that pets make our world better, and we are committed to making a better world for them. As a global, family-owned business, we operate under our Five Principles—Quality, Responsibility, Mutuality, Efficiency, and Freedom—to guide our decisions, support our Associates, and drive sustainable growth.

About the role:

We are seeking a CRM Specialist to join our Pet Nutrition team in Melbourne. In this essential, capability-building role, you will take ownership of establishing high-impact CRM programs across the portfolio of brands, improving the quality and depth of our first-party data, and breathing fresh energy into our ADVANCE D2C and D2B programs.

By building our in-house technical capability, you will help enable faster, more consistent execution across brands and channels, and ensuring CRM becomes a scalable, high performing engine for customer engagement and commercial growth.

What will you do?

As our CRM Specialist, you will own the end-to-end execution of our CRM campaigns, turning audience segments into active brand advocates. Your key areas of focus include:

  • Journey Building & Execution: Plan, build, and deploy manual and automated CRM campaigns and multi-channel journeys within Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC).
  • Loyalty Program Growth: Partner with the Loyalty Manager to refresh and build out tailored journeys for our ADVANCE D2B and D2C programs, strengthening member engagement and retention.
  • Optimization & Performance: Constantly monitor campaign results, lead A/B and multivariate testing (subject lines, templates, creative, timing), and provide data-driven insights to improve future activity.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Marketing Operations, Brand, and eCommerce teams to align CRM efforts with our wider commercial goals.
  • Agency & Asset Management: Brief and manage creative, technical, and content requirements, and oversee platform templates, asset taxonomy, and tracking.
  • First-Party Data Stewardship: Ensure all CRM activities support our first-party data strategy, contributing directly to audience enrichment and growth.

What will you bring?

We are searching for a technical, detail-oriented, and collaborative professional who balances analytical thinking with a passion for customer engagement.

  • 3+ years of experience in marketing communications, digital marketing, or consumer relationship marketing (CRM).
  • Proven hands-on experience in Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC) or a similar scale-enterprise ecosystem, including audience segmentation, journey builder, and campaign execution.
  • Strong comfort with data analysis and digital metrics. You are someone who uses performance metrics to make smart, optimization-led decisions.
  • A solid understanding of first-party data (the transition from "unknown" to "known" customers) combined with excellent project management and delivery skills.
  • Action-oriented with a strong drive for results. You are tech-savvy, highly organized, and comfortable communicating cross-functionally.
  • Degree qualified or equivalent practical digital marketing education.

Why you’ll love working for Mars:

  • Purpose: Help craft beloved brands with a legacy of over 100 years of local manufacturing making products that people and pets will love all while helping to build a more sustainable future.
  • People: A culture that values your contributions, fosters leadership, and recognises the impact you make. Your work truly matters here.
  • Development: Shape your career with personalised development and real opportunities to grow from day one.
  • Enjoy a team and business environment that is invested in helping you manage and grow your energy for work and life.

What you need to know about the Melbourne Tech Scene

Home to 650 biotech companies, 10 major research institutes and nine universities, Melbourne is among one of the top cities for biotech. In fact, some of the greatest medical advancements were conceptualized and developed here, including Symex Lab's "lab-on-a-chip" solution that monitors hormones to predict ovulation for conception, and Denteric's vaccine for periodontal gum disease. Yet, the thousands of people working in the city's healthtech sector are just getting started, to say nothing of the tech advancements across all other sectors.
