The Opportunity:
We’re now looking for an experienced Corporate Communications Manager to join our growing Corporate Communications team. This is a hands‑on, strategic role for a confident communications professional who thrives on shaping narratives, building relationships, and protecting and strengthening organisational reputation. Reporting to the Head of Corporate Communications, you will play a key role in delivering OES’s external communications strategy. You’ll work across a diverse portfolio including media relations, issues management, content creation, thought leadership, brand and reputation management, and social media. You’ll be comfortable operating in a fast‑paced, complex environment, turning challenges into opportunities and helping make complex information accessible and compelling.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive media relations and proactively build strong relationships with external stakeholders
- Develop and deliver compelling content including press releases, speeches, presentations, videos, podcasts, media kits and pitches
- Plan and execute PR and communications campaigns in collaboration with internal teams such as academics, student insights and business development
- Lead OES’s approach to thought leadership, including executive profiling and employee advocacy
- Manage issues and reputation risk, working closely with senior stakeholders
- Oversee website content governance to ensure accuracy, relevance and brand alignment
- Coordinate executive media training
- Monitor and report on media coverage and campaign effectiveness
- Act as guardian of the OES brand, ensuring consistent application across communications
- Manage OES’s LinkedIn presence and support other social channels as required
- Provide communications advice and support across the organisation, including support to internal communications when needed
About you:
- You’re a strategic yet hands‑on communications professional who brings:
- Qualifications in Communications, Public Relations and/or Marketing
- 5–7 years’ experience in a corporate communications or agency environment
- Proven experience working with media and managing external stakeholders
- Strong storytelling ability across thought leadership, executive messaging and corporate content
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Confidence working with senior leaders and cross‑functional teams
- A proactive, solutions‑focused mindset and genuine interest in education and impact
