The Role

We are looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to join our team in Melbourne, Australia.

As the Business Development Manager, you will:

  • Client Insights: Identify target clients using key demographics and market insights.

  • Market Feedback: Provide valuable market feedback to ensure fair pricing and service offerings.

  • Regular Meetings: Collaborate with the State Business Development Manager to stay ahead of market trends.

  • Market Understanding: Understand other companies' strengths, weaknesses, and market positioning.

  • Client Engagement: Ensure regular client visits and convert opportunities into profitable business.

  • Product Development: Develop a balanced product mix across Ocean, Air, and other services.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Proven success in global forwarding sales with a strong understanding of the sales process.

  • In-depth knowledge of global forwarding operations, other companies, and market trends.

  • Ability to identify client needs and provide effective solutions.

  • Strong commercial awareness and ability to differentiate our offerings in the marketplace.

  • Extensive network of industry contacts and excellent knowledge of trade lanes and customs procedures.

  • Strong numerical and problem-solving abilities to support decision-making.
