About the Role

As a Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for driving strategic revenue growth by identifying, developing, and securing new business opportunities across mid-market and enterprise customers. You will own the complete sales lifecycle while developing territory strategies, managing key stakeholder relationships, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver tailored payment and fleet solutions.

Beyond individual sales performance, you will contribute to commercial planning, market development initiatives, and continuous improvement of sales processes, while acting as a trusted advisor to both customers and internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategic business development plans to achieve and exceed revenue targets.
  • Identify, qualify, and convert high-value business opportunities across targeted industries and market segments.
  • Build and maintain a robust sales pipeline through proactive prospecting, networking, referrals, and strategic partnerships.
  • Lead complex sales engagements, including solution design, commercial negotiations, proposal development, and contract execution.
  • Establish trusted relationships with senior decision-makers, executives, and key stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Product, Customer Success, and Operations to deliver integrated customer solutions.
  • Analyse market trends, competitor activity, and customer insights to identify new growth opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate forecasting, pipeline management, and reporting through Salesforce CRM.
  • Represent customer feedback internally to support product innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Support and mentor Business Development Executives and other sales team members by sharing best practices and contributing to a high-performance sales culture.
  • Contribute to territory planning, strategic account development, and long-term commercial growth initiatives.

What We're Looking For

Essential

  • 5+ years of successful B2B business development or enterprise sales experience.
  • Demonstrated success managing complex, consultative sales cycles and closing high-value commercial agreements.
  • Strong experience in solution selling and developing business cases for customers.
  • Proven ability to engage and influence executive-level stakeholders.
  • Excellent commercial acumen, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Experience working collaboratively across Sales, Marketing, Product, and Operations.
  • Advanced CRM experience, preferably Salesforce, with strong pipeline management and forecasting capability.
  • Self-motivated, results-driven, and highly organised.

Preferred

  • Experience within payments, fleet management, financial services, SaaS, or technology solutions.
  • Knowledge of sales methodologies such as MEDDIC, Challenger, SPIN, or Miller Heiman.
  • Experience managing strategic accounts and developing market growth strategies.
  • Previous leadership, coaching, or mentoring experience with aspirations to progress into people leadership.
