The Role

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Manager to establish and grow Algo's presence across Australia. This is a true territory-building role where you will be responsible for developing new business opportunities, growing strategic relationships, and expanding our market share through distributors, integrators, resellers, consultants, and end customers.

You'll develop a strong understanding of Algo's network-based IP communication products, VoIP, and Unified Communications (UC) solutions to drive product adoption and long-term customer success. Working closely with our global Sales, Marketing, and Sales Engineering teams, you will play a key role in launching and growing the Australian market while helping shape Algo's long-term regional strategy.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys building new markets, developing channel partnerships, and making a meaningful impact within a growing global technology company.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive Territory Growth: Develop and execute a strategic business development plan to grow Algo's presence across Australia by identifying and pursuing new business opportunities within the UC and IP communication markets.
  • Strategic Relationship Building: Recruit, develop, and maintain strong relationships with distributors, integrators, resellers, consultants, and technology partners to expand Algo's channel network and market reach.
  • Customer-Centric Strategy: Engage with end customers and prospects, both independently and alongside channel partners, to understand their needs, pain points, buying priorities, and decision-making processes. Use these insights to position Algo solutions effectively, support partner-led opportunities, and develop targeted strategies for territory growth in the UC and IP communications space.
  • Business Development & Pipeline Management: Build and maintain a healthy pipeline of qualified opportunities through proactive prospecting, networking, industry events, and partner engagement while delivering accurate sales forecasts.
  • Industry Leadership: Establish regular touchpoints with partners, consultants, and industry organizations to stay ahead of market trends, ensuring Algo remains visible and competitive within the Australian and New Zealand UC ecosystem.
  • Sales Reporting & Insights: Prepare and present detailed reports on sales activities, pipeline development, market trends, and competitive intelligence, providing actionable insights to senior leadership.
  • CRM & Sales Tools: Utilize CRM platforms to effectively track, manage, and optimize sales activities while maintaining accurate opportunity and forecast data.

Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of business development or sales experience within the Unified Communications, IP communications, networking, or telecommunications industries.
  • Proven Success: Demonstrated track record of consistently achieving or exceeding sales targets while developing new territories, growing channel partnerships, and driving business growth.
  • Technical Expertise: Working knowledge of IP-based communications, VoIP, networking, SIP, paging, and Unified Communications technologies, with the ability to quickly learn new products and effectively communicate their value to customers.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate technical concepts and business value to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Collaborative & Independent: Highly self-motivated with the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a global team across multiple time zones.
  • Tools Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with sales automation tools is considered an asset.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Language: Fluent in English.

What you need to know about the Melbourne Tech Scene

Home to 650 biotech companies, 10 major research institutes and nine universities, Melbourne is among one of the top cities for biotech. In fact, some of the greatest medical advancements were conceptualized and developed here, including Symex Lab's "lab-on-a-chip" solution that monitors hormones to predict ovulation for conception, and Denteric's vaccine for periodontal gum disease. Yet, the thousands of people working in the city's healthtech sector are just getting started, to say nothing of the tech advancements across all other sectors.
