To help drive quality outcomes for Iress clients and enable engineering teams by providing capabilities focused on the supportability and reliability of Iress software (including AWS and Exchange). The role ensures both engineering and operationally focused teams work seamlessly as one combined, end-to-end product engineering team. The role must demonstrate an ability to work with external client’s engineering teams supporting a complex mix of software, clients and delivery outcomes. The role requires an ability to work with a diverse range of internal and external technical & engineering teams, to ensure a highly reliable, automated product engineering & operational capability exists.
Some of the awesome things you’ll be involved with:

Contribute, support and deliver on tasks, activities or functions for the ongoing access to the Iress tech environment

Strong focus on enabling speed, scale and quality, supporting Iress clients, both internal and external Engineering teams

Drives increased automation throughout Operational Engineering activities and remove “hands-on” work, driving an effective efficiency outcome

Ensures existing clients and solutions continue to operate effectively

Ensures software, network and any relevant technical changes are correctly migrated to Production
-
Monitor Iress systems for alarms and outages, and take appropriate action in line with Iress guidelines
-
Define, promote and support the team methodologies and processes and actively participates in the continual improvement of these
-
Provide after-hours emergency on-call rotational support (including weekends and public holidays when required).

Finding better ways of doing things, with a view to the future and technology delivery trends. Participates in defining the future state of Support Engineering and considers the wider technology environment when making changes toward this state
What you will bring:

Experience working with cloud platforms (AWS)
-
A proven track record in providing Production support for mission-critical applications
-
A working knowledge of CI/CD tools (i.e. Buildkite)

Have a good understanding of Window-based and Linux-based software
-
Working experience in databases (e.g. PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Oracle)

Engineering and scripting skills (e.g. Bash, Python, C#, Kotlin)

Infrastructure management software (e.g. Terraform, Cloud Formation)
-
Config management software like (e.g. Ansible, Puppet, Chef)

Communicates positively and confidently at all times, internally and externally relevant, valuable information

Has an ability to relate effectively and positively with all people at all levels within Iress

Creates loyalty, trust and following

Capable of contributing to broader business conversations beyond operational engineering and technology
