Responsibilities
- Conduct serious event/incident investigations across BDA, ensuring thorough analysis, effective containment/corrective actions and timely closure.
- Lead the event/incident management framework, ensuring all stakeholders are aligned and processes are consistently applied across BDA programs and functions.
- Facilitate Serious Event Review Board (SERB) meetings, manage meeting minutes and corrective actions.
- Present investigation findings and safety recommendations to senior leadership and governance councils where required.
- Develop, review and continuously improve investigation templates, tools and standard operating procedures to enhance consistency and learning outcomes.
- Provide expert advice on human-factors principles and investigation methodologies to investigators and stakeholders.
- Analyse incident data to identify trends, predictive risk indicators and opportunities for proactive risk mitigation as part of the Assurance program across BDA.
- Collaborate with business units, subject matter experts and external regulators to communicate findings and drive safety improvements.
Experience / Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety) or equivalent industry experience in an investigations, Quality or auditing role.
- 5+ years' experience conducting incident investigations and/or audits in a regulated, complex environment (aerospace, defence, aviation, mining etc.).
- Proven expertise in investigation methodology and familiarity with safety standards.
- Certifications - Incident Investigation Training (e.g., ICAM); Human-Factors certification (highly desirable).
- Strong competency with safety management systems (SMS), risk-management frameworks and data-analysis/reporting tools for trend analysis.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder-engagement skills, with a track record of influencing change and delivering clear, actionable safety recommendations.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team, managing multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
