Analyst - Audit and Assurance

We have an exciting opportunity for an Analyst - Audit and Assurance to join Crown Melbourne's Finance team. Reporting to the Senior Analyst, Audit & Assurance, you will play a key role in supporting audit, assurance and compliance activities across a highly regulated environment.

This role is responsible for conducting revenue reconciliations, controls testing, exception analysis and audit procedures to help ensure operational integrity, regulatory compliance and effective risk management. Working across a variety of stakeholders, you'll gain valuable exposure to audit methodologies, financial controls, data analytics and regulatory frameworks while contributing to Crown's commitment to excellence and accountability.

What You'll Do

  • Execute audit and assurance procedures in accordance with approved audit programs, methodologies and regulatory requirements.

  • Complete daily, weekly and monthly revenue and system reconciliations, identifying anomalies, control gaps and unexplained variances.

  • Perform controls testing, walkthroughs, sample testing and evidence collection to assess the effectiveness of key business processes.

  • Analyse large volumes of operational and financial data to identify trends, exceptions, risks and potential compliance issues.

  • Prepare accurate audit workpapers, reconciliation reports and supporting documentation that clearly evidence findings and conclusions.

  • Support investigations into discrepancies, control failures and unusual transactions, escalating issues when required.

  • Collaborate with operational teams including Gaming Operations, Cage & Count, Finance, Risk & Compliance and Technology to gather information and validate findings.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to strengthen controls, processes and reporting capabilities.

What You'll Bring

  • 2+ years' experience in audit, assurance, risk, compliance, financial controls or a related analytical role.

  • Demonstrated experience performing reconciliations, controls testing, data analysis and exception-based reviews within a regulated or complex operating environment.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data, identify anomalies and draw evidence-based conclusions.

  • High attention to detail with a methodical approach to documentation, audit quality and record keeping.

  • Sound understanding of internal controls, risk management principles and audit methodologies.

  • Advanced communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships across multiple business functions.

  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including data analysis, reconciliation and reporting functions; exposure to data analytics tools such as Power BI, SQL or similar will be highly regarded.

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related discipline. Progress towards or completion of a professional qualification (CA, CPA, CIA or equivalent) will be advantageous.
