Rome2Rio, a global trip-planning company based in Melbourne, has appointed Wendy Olson Killion as its new CEO. Olson Killion brings over two decades of experience in online marketing, sales, product and technology to the company along with a background in the travel industry.
Rome2Rio helps users research, compare and coordinate transport options across more than 240 countries and territories. Its platform gathers data from more than 12,000 transportation providers worldwide and sees more than 50 million monthly visits.
Prior to joining the company, Olson Killion led Expedia Group Media Solutions and oversaw business leadership areas including product, analytics, engineering, strategy, operations, marketing and commercial partner-facing teams. In her new role, Olson Killion plans to expand and monetize Rome2Rio’s search capabilities and increase its relevance with travelers and advertising partners worldwide.
The outgoing CEO, Yesh Munnangi, is stepping down after successfully leading Rome2Rio through its acquisition by the Omio Group, navigating the challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic and significantly scaling the business and its revenue.
