Here’s how you will make a difference in this role… 

As the Workforce Planning Specialist you will be responsible for translating forecast demand into workforce plans, roster strategies and staffing models that support service delivery, workforce efficiency and operational objectives across Maxxia and RemServ Operations. 

This role owns workforce scheduling, availability planning, leave governance and compliance, ensuring workforce supply aligns to forecast demand through effective roster design, capacity planning and workforce mix management. 

You will provide leaders with clear insights and recommendations on workforce risks, leave trends, utilisation, roster effectiveness and productivity opportunities, while partnering with workforce specialists to support compliant, sustainable and operationally effective plans.

  • Develop workforce plans, roster strategies and staffing models aligned to forecast demand, service requirements and operational priorities. 

  • Design and maintain master rosters, shift patterns and workforce structures that balance customer demand, employee experience and cost outcomes. 

  • Manage workforce availability, leave governance and capacity frameworks, monitoring risks and recommending actions to maintain service performance. 

  • Develop contingency and surge plans while ensuring workforce plans, schedules and rostering practices comply with awards, legislation, policies and WFM requirements. 

  • Monitor overtime, workforce compliance, planning controls and system configuration to maintain roster integrity and support effective operational and financial outcomes. 

  • Partner with Operations leaders and the Workforce Management team to provide practical workforce planning advice, insights and recommendations. 

  • Identify opportunities to improve workforce utilisation, roster effectiveness, flexibility and workforce planning practices. 

  • Support operational and strategic workforce initiatives that improve planning maturity, service delivery and workforce performance. 

  

To be considered for this role you will have: 

  • Experience in workforce planning in a complex multi-site, multi-channel operational environment. 

  • Strong understanding of workforce planning principles, scheduling methodologies and workforce optimisation practices. 

  • Understanding of workforce planning concepts including shrinkage, adherence, coverage and interval staffing. 

  • Experience balancing workforce supply, demand, service outcomes and labour costs. 

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify workforce risks and recommend practical workforce planning solutions. 

  • Experience translating workforce forecasts into workforce plans, roster strategies and staffing requirements. 

  • Understanding of performance metrics, workload drivers and operational planning. 

  • Knowledge of Australian employment legislation, workforce compliance obligations and award-based rostering environments.
