The Workforce Effectiveness Centre of Excellence helps prepare CommBank and its workforce for the future. Bringing together strategic workforce forecasting, career architecture and work redesign, the team supports the organisation to anticipate how work is changing and make informed decisions about future work, skills and workforce requirements. 

As a Workforce Effectiveness Specialist, you’ll support work redesign engagements that help the organisation respond to AI, technology and changing workforce needs.

What your role will involve

Reporting to the Executive Manager, Workforce Effectiveness Centre of Excellence, you’ll form part of the broader Workforce Readiness Domain. Work closely with business and HR leaders, you’ll apply work design methodologies, insights and structured problem-solving approaches to understand how work is changing and develop sustainable future-state solutions.

On any given day, you will

  • Deliver work design engagements, including diagnosis, analysis and future-state design.

  • Partner with business and HR stakeholders to explore how AI, technology and strategic change may impact work, roles, skills and workforce requirements.

  • Apply work design methodologies and tools to assess current-state work and identify future opportunities.

  • Analyse complex information and translate it into clear insights, narratives and practical recommendations.

  • Facilitate workshops and stakeholder discussions to explore opportunities and build alignment around outcomes.

  • Collaborate across Workforce Effectiveness priorities to respond to emerging workforce and organisational needs.

We’re interested in hearing from people who have

  • Experience in work design, organisation design, organisational effectiveness or workforce transformation, gained through specialist, consulting, HR Business Partner or related roles.

  • Strong problem-solving, facilitation and storytelling skills, with the ability to influence and engage senior stakeholders.

  • An understanding of how emerging technologies, including AI, are reshaping work, skills and workforce needs.

  • Experience translating complex information into clear insights and practical recommendations that support decision-making.

  • A human-centred approach, with knowledge of organisational psychology, behavioural science, human factors, psychosocial risk or workplace wellbeing being highly regarded.
