Are you an organised, proactive professional with experience coordinating high-volume clinical placements, ideally within Nursing or other complex clinical disciplines?

Do you thrive in a fast-paced operational environment where you balance competing priorities, build strong relationships with healthcare partners, and support students to successfully complete their professional placements?

We're looking for a WIL Senior Officer to join our innovative STEM College WIL Team.

This is a professional (non-academic) role suited to someone with demonstrated experience in clinical placement administration or Work Integrated Learning operations. You'll apply your expertise in clinical placement coordination to manage complex placement activity, collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, and contribute to the delivery of high-quality Work Integrated Learning experiences that prepare students for professional practice.

About the role

In this role, you’ll help shape meaningful placement experiences for students by sourcing, coordinating, and allocating Work Integrated Learning (WIL) opportunities across STEM disciplines. You’ll be a key contact for students, academics, and industry partners — helping to ensure placement processes run smoothly from start to finish.

You’ll join a collaborative squad that supports specific Disciplines within the College. Our squads are continually refining their ways of working, so you’ll have the chance to contribute ideas, embrace new approaches, and help drive improvements that benefit the whole team.

Your day-to-day will include:

  • coordinating stakeholders and complex placement logistics

  • building and maintaining productive relationships with academics and industry partners to ensure the successful coordination and delivery of placements

  • responding to student enquiries and providing high-quality administrative support

  • verifying mandatory preplacement requirements

  • maintaining accurate student and placement records in the InPlace CRM system

  • Supporting placement invoicing and financial administration to ensure timely and accurate processing

  • Identifying opportunities to improve WIL systems, processes and service delivery

This is a dynamic role where your initiative, sound judgement, attention to detail and the ability to build effective relationships will make a real difference to the student experience.

Why you’ll love it

You’ll work in a supportive, improvement focused team
Youll have autonomy and variety in a role where no two days are the same
Youll help shape real world learning experiences for students
Youll be part of a modern, squadbased model that encourages collaboration and innovation

What you’ll bring

  • Strong communication and relationship building skills

  • High-quality administrative experience (WIL experience is a plus)

  • Ability to work collaboratively within a squad-based team

  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise under pressure

  • Attention to detail, initiative, and flexibility

  • Confidence learning and using digital systems

Please Note: Appointment to this position is subject to passing a Working with Children and National Police Check.

What you need to know about the Melbourne Tech Scene

Home to 650 biotech companies, 10 major research institutes and nine universities, Melbourne is among one of the top cities for biotech. In fact, some of the greatest medical advancements were conceptualized and developed here, including Symex Lab's "lab-on-a-chip" solution that monitors hormones to predict ovulation for conception, and Denteric's vaccine for periodontal gum disease. Yet, the thousands of people working in the city's healthtech sector are just getting started, to say nothing of the tech advancements across all other sectors.
