The Used Vehicle Manager is responsible for the Australian & New Zealand markets strategic planning & operational performance of all matters relating to used vehicles.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Drive initiatives and campaigns to support the sell-in & sell-out of IAL vehicles through the approved used Retail Partner Network and Digital Channel, maximising revenue for IAL and reported residual values achieved
  • Manage the retail capability by implementing Best Practise KPI’s to support both a Direct-To-Consumer and Digital Sales Platform, as well as our franchise dealer network; Used vehicle ROI, Stockturn, Quality Assurance, Vehicle Presentation,
  • Manage Used Car flow to ensure IAL stock is managed according to agreed KPIs, eradicating aged stock in line stocking policy & maximising profitable returns
  • Ensure all internal vehicles (including vehicles on by back arrangements or sitting on internal operational fleets) are in-fleeted in accordance with policy, ensuring effective disposal during de-fleet at optimal time/price.
  • Work in close liaison with Regions & Finance to ensure used car valuations are carried out monthly and the correct provisions are made to ensure disposal
  • Work with IAL Business Partners to ensure used vehicle consumer finance offers are communicated in line with updates/offers
  • Collaboratively work with Sales Operations and Regional Sales teams to ensure the Retail Partner Network are maximising the used car opportunity
  • Work with the network development and retail partner engagement teams to ensure the network’s used vehicles operations are supported adequately with training and development tools
  • Develop and maintain IAL’s certified approved used vehicle programme, constantly reviewing competitor offerings to ensure it maintains its relevance and effectiveness in market

What we are looking for:

  • Proven track record of success leading Approved Used Vehicle Programmes within OEM (5+ years’ experience, Automotive Industry mandatory, international experience preferred)
  • Strong product knowledge and interest in the 4x4 market
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Residual Value and TCO Models
  • Strong planning and analytical skills as well as effective negotiation and interpersonal skills are essential
  • Leadership skills to motivate and inspire others
  • An independent, target oriented approach to tasks
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with sensitivity and diplomacy.
  • Ability to multi task and control diverse projects
  • Capable of working under pressure, on strategic and tactical timescales
  • Work requires fair amount of travel
