OUR TEAM

Role is based out of Melbourne. Our Munitions teams in Benalla and Mulwala produce propellants, explosives and munitions for defence and commercial uses. With ongoing investment into research and development, we produce some of the world’s most high-performing guided weapons and explosive ordnance systems. And being at the forefront of a rapidly evolving industry gives our teams constant opportunities to build on their technical expertise.

YOUR ROLE

  • Implement systems engineering and system safety frameworks across guided weapons projects
  • Develop system and system safety requirements, and support verification activities
  • Conduct requirements analysis, hazard analysis (e.g. FMEA), and support safety-in-design activities
  • Develop and manage systems engineering artefacts relating to requirements identification through to verification
  • Develop and manage system safety artefacts including hazard logs, risk assessments and safety cases
  • Support workshops, working groups and design reviews
  • Collaborate with teams at Mulwala and Benalla on safe production processes
  • Work with customers, partners and subcontractors to embed safety across the product lifecycle

YOUR EXPERIENCE

  • Engineering degree eligible for Engineers Australia membership

  • Experience in system engineering and system safety

  • Familiarity with defence systems engineering and systems safety standards

  • Familiar with SFARP, risk matrices, and hazard controls

  • Familiar with rapid prototyping processes and low-TRL products

  • Strong communication and organisational skills

  • Ability to influence stakeholders at all levels

  • Defence industry experience highly desirable
