The Opportunity
As a Survivability Engineer with Phantom Works Australia working closely with key Boeing Defence Australia programs, you will play an integral part in:
- The day-to-day development of next generation disruptive technologies and capabilities.
- Development of Survivability capabilities, from first principles to integration and sustainment.
- Collaborate across multi-disciplined teams, designing and maintaining a suite of capabilities that transition into the larger Boeing business.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, integrate and maintain Survivability technologies and capabilities on new and existing platforms.
- Develops and validates electromagnetic requirements for electrical/electronic systems, mechanical systems, interconnects and structures.
- Develops architectures to integrate systems and components into higher level systems and platforms.
- Performs trade studies, modeling, simulation and other forms of analysis to predict component, interconnects and system performance and to optimize design around established requirements.
- Defines and conducts tests to validate performance of designs to requirements.
- Manages appropriate aspects of supplier and partner performance to ensure compliance to requirements.
- Provides support to products throughout their lifecycle by developing root-cause analysis of anomalies and other engineering support as requested.
- Supports project management by providing work statement, budget, schedule and other required inputs and by reporting project status.
- Writes appropriate sections of proposals to support development of new business.
Experience/Qualifications
- Experience with aerospace RF, advanced RF materials, optical and infrared systems.
- Experience with the design, modeling, analysis, test and verification of RF, optical and infrared systems and materials.
- Experience in materials and subsystem laboratory or field measurements.
- Experience and familiarity using physics simulation software to model platforms and subsystems.
- Experience utilizing scripting languages (e.g. python, perl, etc.) and programing languages and analysis environments (e.g. C++, MATLAB, etc.) to post-process and analyze modeled or measured data.
- Experience with low technology readiness level (TRL) concepts and prototypes.
- Proven capability in the progression of concepts to defined systems.
- Strong knowledge and/or demonstrated experience in autonomous systems and platform development programs.
- High degree of independence and problem solving ability in the search for novel solutions.
- Ability to clearly communicate your vision and ideas with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Tertiary engineering qualification and experience in a relevant technical discipline.
- Applicants must be Australian Citizens and have the ability to obtain a minimum NV-1 Australian Defence security clearance.
