Company Description

In 2008, Qantas Freight Enterprises bought Jets Transport. Today we operate as a wholly owned but independently managed business. With unbeatable reliability, security and attention to detail, it’s no surprise we’re Australia’s road feeder of choice.

At Jets Transport we see expectations as a challenge and push forward knowing we’ve got back-up. High expectations are welcomed, and we’re always aiming for excellence.

Job Description

  • Enjoy the challenge of working in a fast-paced, operational environment
  • Permanent full-time opportunity, based at the Melbourne Freight Terminal
  • 7 day rotational shift roster

Qantas Road Express (JETS Transport Express) is the premium road transport provider to the aviation industry. When international air cargo touches down in Australia, we’re there to get it the rest of the way to its destination. You'll be responsible for coordinating staff and resources, planning the loading/unloading of linehaul trucks, liaising with customers, booking requests and responding to ad-hoc queries.

You’ll have:

  • Operational experience in a similar industry (e.g. Aviation, transport, rail, mining)
  • A valid Forklift Licence
  • HC/MC Licence highly advantageous (but not essential)
  • Shift supervisory experience
  • A good & safe driving record with a minimum 2 years’ experience with driving
  • Demonstrated commitment to managing a safe workplace
  • Ability to work under pressure and remain calm
  • Ability to meet the requirements for an ASIC security clearance, pre-employment medical assessment, and drug and alcohol test

What you need to know about the Melbourne Tech Scene

Home to 650 biotech companies, 10 major research institutes and nine universities, Melbourne is among one of the top cities for biotech. In fact, some of the greatest medical advancements were conceptualized and developed here, including Symex Lab's "lab-on-a-chip" solution that monitors hormones to predict ovulation for conception, and Denteric's vaccine for periodontal gum disease. Yet, the thousands of people working in the city's healthtech sector are just getting started, to say nothing of the tech advancements across all other sectors.
