Meet the Team

In this role, you'll be part of Global Service Provider Sales team. The Strategic Pursuit Lead is a senior individual contributor role responsible for leading complex, strategic sales pursuits in the Australia Service Provider market. Strategic deals include large, multi-year, transformational, product, software and professional services sales.

This role focuses on leading the pursuit team, working closely with the account teams, product, software and services sales specialists, sales leadership, and cross-functional team members to pursue large, transformational opportunities from qualification through closure.

Because this role engages with Australia’s largest Service Provider customers, intimate knowledge of Service Providers, technologies and industry dynamics are preferred.

Your Impact

1. Strategic Pursuit Execution

  • Lead end-to-end pursuit activities for complex strategic deals. Strategic deals include large, multi-year, transformational, product, software & professional services sales.

  • Contribute to sales strategy, including qualification, solutioning, and execution.

  • Apply established governance and qualification frameworks to ensure focused execution.

2. Executive & Customer Engagement

  • Engagement with senior customer executives in collaboration with account teams.

  • Articulate Cisco’s value proposition through technical and commercial proposals.

  • Align internal stakeholders around customer strategy, priorities, critical metrics, and timelines.

3. Business Value & Commercial Support

  • Lead business value creation, including return on investment/TCO considerations and customer success metrics

  • Partner with Finance and Specialist Sales teams on commercial strategy and construct.

  • Ensure proposed technical and commercial solutions align with customer business objectives

4. Cross-Functional Sales Orchestration

  • Act as a lead and coordinate across Sales, Products, Services, Finance and Legal

  • Lead pursuit cadence, achievement tracking, and escalation management

  • Share best-practices in opportunity engagement, and competitive analysis

5. Market & Competitive Awareness

  • Awareness of specific market dynamics, competitors, and regulatory considerations

  • Lead pursuit strategy

6. Contribution to regional Pursuit Practices

  • Apply and radiate best-practices across the broader Service Provider community

  • Share lessons learned and successful commercial strategy and constructs

  • Provide insight into pipeline trends to sales leadership

 

Minimum Qualifications
  • Business-level English

  • 10+ years of experience in Service Provider technology sales, strategic pursuits, consulting, complex deal lead roles

  • Experience leading strategic deals like large, multi-year, transformational, product, software & professional services sales.

  • Solid understanding of value-based selling and commercial deal structures – enterprise agreements, buying program etc.

  • Strong communication and executive stakeholder management skills

Preferred Qualifications
  • Sales experience in Service Provider Routing, Switching, Security and Data Center
