The Law Institute of Victoria (LIV) is the state's peak body for lawyers. Representing more than 22,000 members the LIV's purpose is to foster the rule of law and to promote improvements and developments in the law as it affects the public of Victoria. About the role:

The Strategic Partnerships Lead is responsible for driving sustainable revenue growth through the development of strategic commercial partnerships, sponsorships and advertising opportunities. This role will focus on building and nurturing long-term commercial relationships that deliver value for partners, members and the LIV. Working across LIV's events, education, content, digital channels and member offerings, you will identify new revenue opportunities, create tailored partnership solutions and lead commercial conversations that evolve into meaningful multi-year partnerships. This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially astute business development professional who enjoys building strategic relationships, developing innovative commercial solutions and delivering measurable results.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Identify, develop and secure strategic commercial partnerships, sponsorships and advertising opportunities that generate sustainable revenue growth.
  • Build and manage relationships with corporate partners and sponsors, driving retention, renewals, growth and multi-year partnership opportunities.
  • Develop tailored commercial solutions across LIV events, education programs, publications, content, digital channels and member benefits.
  • Lead partnership proposals, negotiations and commercial agreements from prospecting through to conversion and ongoing growth.
  • Manage and maintain a strong business development pipeline, including forecasting, reporting and revenue tracking.
  • Identify new revenue streams and commercial opportunities that enhance member value and support LIV's strategic objectives.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to deliver integrated commercial solutions and exceptional partner experiences.
  • Monitor partnership performance and commercial outcomes, identifying opportunities to strengthen engagement and maximise value.

To be considered for this role, you will demonstrate: 

  • Proven success in business development, commercial partnerships, sponsorship, advertising sales or a related revenue-generating role.
  • Strong experience identifying opportunities, building pipelines and converting prospects into long-term commercial relationships.
  • Excellent negotiation, influencing and stakeholder engagement skills, with confidence engaging senior decision-makers.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop compelling commercial proposals, business cases and partnership solutions.
  • Commercial acumen including pricing, forecasting, revenue management and contract negotiation.
  • Strong communication, presentation and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience managing multiple priorities and delivering outcomes in a fast-paced environment.
  • A proactive, strategic and results-driven approach, with the ability to work autonomously and collaboratively.
  • Experience using CRM systems to manage pipelines, forecasting and account activity.
