We are seeking a motivated and reliable Casual Storeperson to join our team, responsible for the receipting, storage and distribution of incoming goods, as well as the accurate picking, packing and dispatch of orders to internal St John of God Health Care customers across the Eastern Region of Australia.

Working in a fast-paced environment, you will play a key role in ensuring stock is handled efficiently and delivered in a timely manner while maintaining high standards of accuracy, safety and customer service.

Key responsibilities

  • Receive, inspect, receipt and accurately store incoming goods while maintaining inventory accuracy and stock control.

  • Pick, pack and dispatch orders for hospitals and internal customers, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.

  • Operate forklifts, pallet movers and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.

  • Maintain stock rotation and inventory management practices, including FIFO and expiry date monitoring.

  • Process inventory transactions and associated documentation using computerised supply and inventory systems.

  • Replenish ward and department imprest stock levels, ensuring products are accurately scanned, delivered and restocked.

  • Deliver goods across the SJG Hospital Ballarat campus, including loading, unloading and operating delivery vehicles in accordance with policies and procedures.

  • Maintain compliance with infection control, safety and quality standards while providing excellent service to hospital departments and stakeholders.

Your skills and experience

To be successful in this role, you will be a motivated and reliable team player with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment. You will have strong communication skills, excellent attention to detail and confidence using computer systems for data entry and inventory-related activities.

You will demonstrate a commitment to workplace safety, quality service and confidentiality, along with the physical capability to undertake warehouse operations and manual handling tasks. A professional approach, positive attitude and strong work ethic will enable you to build effective relationships and contribute to a high-performing team environment.

Previous experience as a Storeperson in a warehouse or distribution setting, experience with inventory or warehouse management systems, and exposure to the healthcare sector will be highly regarded. Relevant certifications such as Manual Handling training, a First Aid Certificate, a current Victorian Medium Rigid Driver's Licence and a Forklift Licence are desirable but not essential.
